त्वम् इन्द्र बलाद् अधि सहसो जात ओजसः. त्वं सन् वृषन् वृषेद् असि
Tva≈ san væ¶an væ¶ed asi. Ruling power, Indra, you have risen high by virtue of your strength, patient courage, and grandeur of personality. Generous as showers of blissful rain, you are mighty, excellent and refulgent as the sun.
हे इन्द्र, आप अपनी शक्ति, पराक्रम और तेज से उत्पन्न होकर सामर्थ्यवान हुए हैं। आप सूर्य के समान तेजस्वी, महान और श्रेष्ठ हैं।
Chapter 2 · Verse 121
यज्¤अ इन्द्रम् अवर्धयद् यद् भ्ञुमिं व्यवर्तयत्. चक्राण ओपशं दिवि
Yajna, joint creative endeavour which protects and replenishes the earth and environment, pleases and elevates Indra, the ruler, and creates a place of bliss in the light of heaven for the doer.
यज्ञ, जो पृथ्वी और पर्यावरण की रक्षा और संवर्धन करता है, वह शासक इंद्र को प्रसन्न और उन्नत करता है, और करने वाले के लिए स्वर्ग के प्रकाश में आनंद का स्थान बनाता है।
Chapter 2 · Verse 122
यद् इन्द्राहं यथा त्वम् ईशीय वस्व एक इत्. स्तोता मे गोसखा स्यात्
Stotå me gosakhå syåt. Indra, lord of universal knowledge, power and prosperity, if I were, like you, the sole master of wealth, wisdom and power in my field, then pray may my dependent and celebrant also be blest with wealth and wisdom of the world. (Let all of us together be blest with abundance of wealth and wisdom under the social dispensation of our system of government and administration.)
हे इन्द्र, यदि मैं भी आपकी भांति ऐश्वर्य, ज्ञान और शक्ति का एकमात्र स्वामी होता, तो मेरे अनुयायी और उपासक भी धन-धान्य और ज्ञान से परिपूर्ण होते। हम सब मिलकर अपने समाज और शासन व्यवस्था के अंतर्गत समृद्धि और प्रज्ञा से युक्त हों।
Chapter 2 · Verse 123
पन्यम्-पन्यम् इत् सोतार आ धावत मद्याय. सोमं वीराय श्ञुराय
Soma≈ v∂råya ‹μuråya. O makers of soma, to Indra, offer the drink of soma, brave, ecstatic and heroic, and let each draught be more and more delicious and adorable.
हे सोम के निर्मातागण, उस वीर, मदमस्त और पराक्रमी इंद्र के लिए सोम रस का अर्पण करो, और प्रत्येक घूंट अधिकाधिक स्वादिष्ट और पूजनीय हो।
Chapter 2 · Verse 124
इदं वसो सुतम् अन्धः पिबा सुप्ञुर्णम् उदरम्. अनाभयिन् ररिमा ते
O lord of the world's treasure of wealth, honour and excellence, here is this exhilarating soma nectar of love and devotion distilled from the heart and soul. Pray drink of it to your heart's content. We offer it to you, lord beyond fear.
हे विश्व के धन, ऐश्वर्य और उत्कृष्टता के स्वामी, आपके लिए हृदय और आत्मा से निस्तृत प्रेम और भक्ति का यह आनंददायक सोम रस प्रस्तुत है। कृपया अपनी तृप्ति तक इसका पान करें। हम आपको, हे भय से परे प्रभु, इसे अर्पित करते हैं।
Chapter 2 · Verse 125
उद्घेदभि श्रुतामघं वृषभं नर्याप- सम्. अस्तारम् एषि स्ञुर्य
O Surya, self-refulgent light of the world, you rise and move in the service of Indra, lord of the wealth of revelation, generous and virile, lover of humanity and dispeller of the darkness and negativities of the mind, soul and the universe. (Rg. 8-93-1) (Indra is interpreted in this Sukta as the omnipotent, self-refulgent lord and light of the universe, as the sublime soul, and as the enlightened mind according to the context of meaning reflected by the intra-structure of the mantra.)
हे सूर्य देव, आप जगत् के प्रकाशक हैं, जो ऐश्वर्यवान, बलवान और मनुष्यों के प्रिय हैं, वे इन्द्र (सर्वव्यापी चेतना) की सेवा में उदय होते हैं और विचरण करते हैं, अंधकार और अज्ञान का नाश करते हैं। आप ही मन, आत्मा और ब्रह्मांड के अंधकार को दूर करने वाले हैं।

Sarvam tadindra te va‹e. O sun, dispeller of darkness, whatever the aim and purpose for which you rise today, let that be, O Indra, lord ruler of the world, under your command and control.
हे सूर्य, अंधकार को दूर करने वाले, आज जिस भी उद्देश्य से आप उदित होते हैं, हे इंद्र, विश्व के शासक, वह सब आपकी आज्ञा और नियंत्रण में हो।
Chapter 2 · Verse 127
य आनयत् परावतः सुनीती तुर्वशम् यदुम्. इन्द्रः स नो युवा सखा
Indra¨ sa no yuvå sakhå. May Indra, that eternal lord omnipotent, that youthful ruler, and that forceful leader, be our friend and companion so that he may lead the man of instant decision and action and the hardworking people on way to wisdom and right living even from far off distance.
हे इंद्र, हे युवा मित्र, हे बलवान शासक, दूर से भी हमें ज्ञान और सही जीवन के मार्ग पर ले चलें। वे हमें बुद्धि और सही आचरण की ओर प्रेरित करें।
Chapter 2 · Verse 128
त्वा युजा वनेम तत्
Indra, powerful friend and ally in spirit and conduct, let no force, howsoever strong it may be, from any direction come at night and overtake us by violence. With you as a friend and inspirer, let us counter that attack and win.
हे इंद्र, जो आत्मा और कर्म में हमारे शक्तिशाली मित्र और सहायक हैं, रात्रि में कोई भी बल, चाहे वह कितना भी शक्तिशाली क्यों न हो, हमें बलपूर्वक पराजित न कर सके। आपके मित्रतापूर्ण मार्गदर्शन से हम उस आक्रमण का सामना कर विजय प्राप्त करें।

एन्द्र सानसिं रयिं सजित्वानं सदासहम्. वर्षिष्ंहम् ञुतये भर
Var¶i¶¢ham μutaye bhara. Indra, lord supreme of power and glory, bless us with the wealth of life and well-being that gives us the superiority of action over sufferance, delight and victory, courage and endurance, excellence and generosity, and leads us on way to progress under divine protection.
हे इन्द्र देव, आप शक्ति और ऐश्वर्य के स्वामी हैं, हमें जीवन और कल्याण का वह धन प्रदान करें जो हमें कष्ट पर विजय, आनंद और सफलता, साहस और सहनशीलता, उत्कृष्टता और उदारता प्रदान करता है, और हमें दिव्य सुरक्षा में प्रगति के मार्ग पर ले जाता है।

In battles great and small, we invoke Indra, lord omnipotent, we call upon sun and wind, mighty breaker of the clouds, friend in darkness, wielder of the thunderbolt.
हे इन्द्र देव, हम महान और छोटे युद्धों में आपको पुकारते हैं, हे वज्रधारी, आप मेघों को भेदने वाले और अंधकार में मित्र हैं।
Chapter 2 · Verse 131
अपिबत् कद्रुवः सुतम् इन्द्रः सहस्रबाह्वे. तत्राददिष्ंअ पौंस्यम्
Tatrådadi¶¢a pau≈syam. In the thousand armed dynamic battles of the elements in evolution, Indra, as the sun, drinks the soma of the earth and therein shines the potent majesty of the lord.
हे इन्द्र, हे सहस्रबाहु! आप पृथ्वी के सोम रस का पान करते हैं, जिससे इस विकसित सृष्टि में आपकी शक्ति और महिमा प्रकाशित होती है।
Chapter 2 · Verse 132
वयम् इन्द्र त्वायवोइ᳓भि प्र नोनुमो वृषन्. विद्धी त्वास्य नो वसो
Viddh∂ tvåsya no vaso. Indra, generous and valorous lord ruler, giver of settlement, peace and progress, we are your admirers, and we stand for you. O lord, know this of us, for us and for the nation.
हे इन्द्र देव, हम आपकी स्तुति करते हैं, आप ही हमारे रक्षक और दाता हैं। हम आपके भक्त हैं और आपके प्रति समर्पित हैं, हे प्रभु, इसे जान लें।
Chapter 2 · Verse 133
Å घा ये अग्निम् इन्धते स्तृणन्ति बर्हिर् आनुषक्. येषाम् इन्द्रो युवा सखा
Blessed are they for sure who kindle the fire of yajna, Agni, and spread the seats of grass open for all in faith and love and whose friend is Indra, the mighty youthful soul who brooks no nonsense and delay. (8-45-1)
धन्य हैं वे जो यज्ञ की अग्नि प्रज्वलित करते हैं और श्रद्धा व प्रेम से सबके लिए आसन बिछाते हैं, जिनके मित्र शक्तिशाली, युवा और दृढ़ निश्चयी इंद्र हैं।

भिन्धि विश्वा अप द्विषः परि बाधो जही मृधः. वसु स्पार्हं तद् आ भर
Break off all the jealous adversaries, remove all obstacles, eliminate the enemies and violence and fill the world with cherished wealth, honour and prosperity.
हे प्रभु, ईर्ष्यालु शत्रुओं को नष्ट करें, सभी बाधाओं को दूर करें, और हमें धन, सम्मान और समृद्धि से परिपूर्ण करें।
Chapter 2 · Verse 135
इहेव शृण्व एषां कशा हस्तेषु यद्वदान्. नि यामं चित्रम् ऋ¤जते
Ni yåma≈ citram æ¤jate. Whatever I hear here wherever I am, whatever the stimulation of the nerves and motions of the muscles in the hands, whatever people speak, whatever varied and wonderful they straighten, realise or obtain in the business of life, all that is by the motion of these winds. (Research into the energy, power and uses of the winds.)
हे ईश्वर, जो कुछ भी मैं यहाँ सुनता हूँ, जो कुछ भी मेरे हाथों की नसों और मांसपेशियों की हलचल से उत्पन्न होता है, जो कुछ भी लोग बोलते हैं, और जीवन के व्यवहार में जो भी विविध और अद्भुत चीजें प्राप्त होती हैं, वह सब इन प्राणों की गति से ही संभव है।

इम उ त्वा वि चक्षते सखाय इन्द्र सोमिनः. पुष्ंआवन्तो यथा पशुम्
Pu¶¢åvanto yathå pa‹um. Indra, these friends, celebrants of soma and holiness, holding offerings of precious homage, look and wait for you as the seeker waits for the sight of his wealth.
हे इन्द्र! सोमपान करने वाले और पवित्र कर्मों में लगे हुए ये मित्र, बहुमूल्य अर्पण धारण किए हुए, धन की अभिलाषा रखने वाले की तरह आपकी प्रतीक्षा कर रहे हैं।
Chapter 2 · Verse 137
समस्य मन्यवे विशो विश्वा नमन्त कृष्ंअ- यः. समुद्रायेव सिन्धवः
The people, in fact the entire humanity, bow in homage and surrender to this lord of passion, power and splendour just as rivers flow on down and join into the sea.
समस्त मानवजाति, उस परमेश्वर के प्रति श्रद्धापूर्वक नमन करती है, जो समस्त ऐश्वर्य और शक्ति का स्वामी है, ठीक उसी प्रकार जैसे नदियाँ समुद्र में विलीन हो जाती हैं। यह समर्पण उस परम सत्ता के प्रति है जो सभी को अपनी ओर आकर्षित करती है।
Chapter 2 · Verse 138
देवानाम् इद् अवो महत् तदा वृणीमहे वयम्. वृष्णाम् अस्मभ्यम् ञुतये
V涃åm asmabhyam μutaye. We choose for ourselves the grand patronage and protection of the generous brilliancies of nature and humanity for our safety, security and advancement.
हे देवगण, हम आपकी महान कृपा और सुरक्षा की याचना करते हैं, जो प्रकृति और मानवता की उज्ज्वल शक्तियों से प्राप्त होती है, जिससे हमारा कल्याण और उन्नति हो।
Chapter 2 · Verse 139
सोमानां स्वरणं कृणुहि ब्रह्मणस्पते. कक्षीवन्तं य औशिजः
Kak¶∂vanta≈ ya au‹ija¨. Brahmanaspati, brilliant lord of Vedic knowledge, zealous for learning I am, born of learned parents, kindly take me up as a disciple, train me as an expert of soma- yajna, a scholar of language and communication with a vision of the Word and meaning, and as an artist and craftsman of eminence.
हे ब्रह्मन्! हे ज्ञान के स्वामी! मुझे अपने शिष्य के रूप में स्वीकार करें और मुझे सोम यज्ञ के विशेषज्ञ, शब्द और अर्थ के ज्ञाता, तथा एक कुशल कलाकार के रूप में प्रशिक्षित करें।
Chapter 2 · Verse 140
बोधन्मना इदस्तु नो वृत्रहा भ्ञुर्यासुतिः. ›ऋणोतु शक्र आशिषम्
May Indra, lord of universal intelligence, destroyer of darkness, commander of universal success and joy, we pray, know our mind and listen to us for our heart's desire for success.
हे इंद्र देव, जो समस्त बुद्धि के स्वामी, अंधकार के नाशक और सार्वभौमिक सफलता व आनंद के प्रदाता हैं, कृपया हमारे मन को जानें और हमारी हृदय की इच्छाओं को सुनें।
Chapter 2 · Verse 141
अद्या नो देव सवितः प्रजावत् सावीः सौभ- गम्. परा दुःष्वप्न्यं सुव
O generous lord Savita, create for us here and now honour and good fortune full of noble people and progeny. Drive away bad dreams and ward off dreamy ambitions.
हे उदार देव सविता, हमें अभी और यहीं प्रजा और सौभाग्य से युक्त यश प्रदान करें। दुःस्वप्नों को दूर भगाएं और व्यर्थ की महत्वाकांक्षाओं को भी दूर करें।
Chapter 2 · Verse 142
क्वास्य वृषभो युवा तुविग्रीवो अनानतः. ब्रह्मा कस्तं सपर्यति
Brahmå kasta≈ saparyati. Where does the generous lord of showers, ever youthful and eternal, of broad shoulders unbent, reside? Which sage and scholar can ever comprehend and serve him in full knowledge and competence?
हे सर्वव्यापी, युवा और अचल प्रभु, आपके विशाल कंधे कभी झुकते नहीं, आप कहाँ निवास करते हैं? कौन ज्ञानी और विद्वान आपकी पूर्णता को समझकर आपकी सेवा कर सकता है?
Chapter 2 · Verse 143
उपह्वरे गिरीणाम् सΔगमे च नदीनाम्. धिया विप्रो अजायत
Dhiyå vipro ajåyata. In seclusion over mountain slopes and in the caves and on the confluence of rivers, the vibrant presence of the lord within reveals itself by illumination in the self.
पर्वतों की एकांत घाटियों में, गुफाओं में और नदियों के संगम पर, आत्म-ज्ञान के प्रकाश से प्रभु का जीवंत स्वरूप प्रकट होता है।
Chapter 2 · Verse 144
प्र सम्राजं चर्षण्तीनाम् इन्द्रं स्तोता नव्यं गीर्भिः. नरम् नृषाहं मंहिष्ंहम्
With songs of celebration glorify Indra, refulgent ruler of humanity, worthy of adoration, leader, destroyer of evil people, the greatest and most munificent.
हे स्तोता! तुम इंद्र की स्तुति करो, जो मनुष्यों के शासक, प्रकाशमान, पूजा के योग्य, महान नेता, दुष्टों का नाश करने वाले और सबसे उदार हैं।
Chapter 2 · Verse 145
अपादु शिप्र्यन्धसः सुदक्षस्य प्रहोषिणः. इन्दोर् इन्द्रो यवाश्रः
Indor indro yavå‹ra¨. Let Indra, the ruler, value, protect and promote the soma homage mixed and strengthened with the delicacies of life and offered by the generous and enlightened people. (The mantra points to the circulation of wealth and economy of the nation managed by the tax payers and the ruling powers of the government.)
हे इन्द्र, जो उदार और प्रबुद्ध जन जीवन के स्वादिष्ट पदार्थों से युक्त सोम-यज्ञ का अनुष्ठान करते हैं, उस यज्ञ को आप स्वीकार करें, उसकी रक्षा करें और उसे बढ़ाएँ।
Chapter 2 · Verse 146
इमा उ त्वा पुरुवसोइ᳓भि प्र नोनुवुर् गिरः. गावो वत्सं न धेनवः
Gåvo vatsa≈ na dhenava¨. Indra, lord ruler of the world and guardian of the people, just as mother cows look toward and low out of affection for the calf, so do these people look up to you with love and reverence, and their voices of adoration exalt you, O lord of a hundred acts of kindness and holiness.
हे इन्द्र देव! जैसे गौएँ अपने बछड़ों की ओर प्रेम से देखती और पुकारती हैं, वैसे ही ये प्रजाजन भक्ति और श्रद्धा से आपकी ओर देखते हैं और स्तुति करते हैं। आपकी महिमा का गान करते हुए वे आपकी कृपा और पवित्रता का स्मरण करते हैं।
Chapter 2 · Verse 147
अत्राह गोरमन्वत नाम त्वष्ंउरपीच्यम्. इत्था चन्द्रमसो गृहे
Itthå candramaso gæhe. Just as here on the surface of the earth and in its environment, we know, there is the beautiful light of the sun penetrating and reaching everywhere, similarly, let all know, it is there on the surface of the moon. (Just as the sun holds and illuminates the earth and the moon, so should the ruler with his light of justice and power hold and brighten every home in the land.)
जैसे सूर्य का प्रकाश पृथ्वी और उसके वातावरण में सर्वत्र व्याप्त है, उसी प्रकार चंद्रमा की सतह पर भी सभी को उस प्रकाश का अनुभव हो। यह प्रकाश सभी के घरों को न्याय और शक्ति से प्रकाशित करे।
Chapter 2 · Verse 148
यद् इन्द्रो अनयद् रितो महीरपो वृषन्तमः. तत्र प्ञुषा भुवत् सचा
Tatra pμu¶å bhuvat sacå. When most generous Indra moves and brings about heavy showers of rain, then Pusha too is the corporate power of natural energy. (Thus making and breaking, consumption and creation are simultaneous processes of natural metabolism in life.)
जब परम उदार इंद्र वर्षा की भारी बौछारें लाते हैं, तब पूषा भी प्राकृतिक ऊर्जा की संयुक्त शक्ति के रूप में प्रकट होते हैं।
Chapter 2 · Verse 149
गौर् धयति मरुतां श्रवस्युर्माता मघो- नाम्. युक्ता वह्नी रथानाम्
The cow, the earth, nature herself, mother of magnanimous Maruts, mighty men, is committed to provide sustenance and honourable existence for them and, joined with them in piety, bearing lovely gifts for them, provides the food of life and love as a mother suckles her children.
गौ, पृथ्वी और प्रकृति स्वयं, महान मरुतों की माता, उनके लिए पोषण और सम्मानजनक जीवन प्रदान करने के लिए समर्पित है, और उनके साथ मिलकर, प्यारे उपहारों को धारण करते हुए, वह जीवन और प्रेम का भोजन प्रदान करती है।

Upa no haribhi¨ sutam. O lord and protector of the joys of life, come to us to taste the soma of life prepared by us with our mind, imagination and senses in your honour, come to us for the soma distilled by our heart and mind for you.
हे आनंद के रक्षक, अपने मन, कल्पना और इंद्रियों से आपके लिए तैयार किए गए जीवन के सोम रस का स्वाद लेने के लिए हमारे पास आइए।
Chapter 2 · Verse 151
∫ष्ंआ होत्रा असृक्षतेन्द्रं वृधन्तो अध्वरे. अच्छावभृथम् ओजसा
Acchåvabhætham ojaså. Cherished and lovely offers of havi offered into the fire in the yajna of life exalt Indra, and with light and lustre lead the yajamana to the sanctifying bath on the completion of the yajna.
यज्ञ में आहूत हविष्य की प्रिय और दीप्त आहुतियाँ इन्द्र को बल प्रदान करती हैं, और जीवन के यज्ञ के पूर्ण होने पर यजमान को पवित्र स्नान की ओर ले जाती हैं।
Chapter 2 · Verse 152
अहम् इद्धि पितुष्परि मेधामृतस्य जग्रह. अहं स्ञुर्य इवाजनि
Aha≈ sμurya ivåjani. I have received from my father super intelligence of the universal mind and law, I have realise it too in the soul, and I feel reborn like the refulgent sun.
मैंने अपने पिता से सार्वभौमिक मन और नियम की परम बुद्धि प्राप्त की है, मैंने इसे आत्मा में भी अनुभव किया है, और मैं प्रज्वलित सूर्य की तरह पुनर्जन्म महसूस करता हूँ।
Chapter 2 · Verse 153
रेवतीर् नः सधमाद इन्द्रे सन्तु तुविवाजाः. क्षुमन्तो याभिर् मदेम
K¶umanto yåbhir madema. May our people, wives and children be rich in wealth, knowledge and grace of culture, so that we, abundant and prosperous, may rejoice with them and live with them in happy homes in a state of honour and glory.
हे इन्द्र देव, हमारी प्रजा, पत्नियाँ और बच्चे धन, ज्ञान और संस्कृति से समृद्ध हों, जिससे हम भी समृद्ध होकर उनके साथ आनन्दित हों और सम्मान व गौरव के साथ सुखमय गृहस्थ जीवन व्यतीत करें।
Chapter 2 · Verse 154
सोमः प्ञुषा च चेततुर् विश्वासां सुक्षितीनाम्. देवत्रा रथ्योर्हिता
Devatrå rathyorhitå. May Soma and Pusha, divine spirit of peace and creativity, growth and sustenance, both adorable, gracious and all pervasive, inspire and enlighten all people of the world.
हे सोम और पूषा देव! आप दोनों ही विश्व के सभी शुभ कर्म करने वाले मनुष्यों को प्रेरित और प्रकाशित करें। आपकी कृपा से सभी का कल्याण हो।
Chapter 2 · Verse 155
पान्तमा वो अन्धस इन्द्रम् अभि प्र गायत. विश्वासाहं शतक्रतुं मंहिष्ंहं चर्ष- णीनाम्
Sing in praise and appreciation of Indra, the ruler, protector of your food, sustenance and maintenance, all tolerant, all defender and all challenger, hero of a hundred noble actions and the best, most generous and most brilliant of the people.
हे इन्द्र देव! आप विश्व के रक्षक, सैकड़ों पराक्रमी कर्मों वाले, महान, सभी को धारण करने वाले और सभी के रक्षक हैं, आपकी महिमा का गान करें।
Chapter 2 · Verse 156
प्र व इन्द्राय मादनं हर्यश्वाय गायत. सखायः सोमपाव्ने
Sakhåya¨ somapåvne. O friends, sing exciting songs of celebration in honour of Indra, your leader, commander of dynamic forces who loves the nation's honour and excellence and thirsts to celebrate the grandeur of it.
हे सखाओं, सोमपान करने वाले इंद्र के लिए आनंददायक गीत गाओ। वे राष्ट्र के सम्मान और उत्कृष्टता के प्रेमी हैं और उसकी भव्यता का उत्सव मनाने के लिए उत्सुक हैं।
Chapter 2 · Verse 157
वयमु त्वा तदिदर्था इन्द्र त्वायन्तः सखा- यः. कण्वा उक्थेभिर्जरन्ते
Indra, we too have the same aims and objectives as you. We are your friends and admirers. We know and wish to achieve, and with all words of praise and appreciation, we adore you as others, wise devotees, do.
हे इन्द्र, हम भी तुम्हारे समान ही लक्ष्य रखते हैं, हम तुम्हारे मित्र और प्रशंसक हैं, और हम स्तुतियों से तुम्हारा पूजन करते हैं।
Chapter 2 · Verse 158
इन्द्राय मद्वने सुतं परि ष्ंओभन्तु नो गिरः. अर्कम् अर्चन्तु कारवः
Let all our voices of admiration flow and intensify the soma for the joy of Indra, and let the poets sing songs of adoration for him and celebrate his achievements.

Chapter 2 · Verse 159
अयम् त इन्द्र सोमो निप्ञुतो अधि बर्हिषि. एहीमस्य द्रवा पिब
Eh∂masya dravå piba. Indra, this soma pure and sanctified on the holy grass of yajna vedi, is dedicated to you. Come fast, you would love it, drink and enjoy, and protect and promote it for the good of all.
हे इन्द्र देव, यज्ञ की पवित्र वेदी पर स्थापित यह सोम रस आपके लिए समर्पित है। हे देवराज, शीघ्र पधारें और इस रस का पान कर, हमें सुख-समृद्धि प्रदान करें।
Chapter 2 · Verse 160
सुर्ञुपकृत्नुम् ञुतये सुदुघाम् इव गोदुहे. जुह्ञुमसि द्यविद्यवि
Juhμumasi dyavidyavi. Just as the generous mother cow is milked for the person in need of nourishment, so every day for the Indra, lord omnipotent of light and life, maker of beautiful forms of existence and giver of protection and progress.
जैसे पोषण चाहने वाले के लिए गौमाता का दूध दुहा जाता है, वैसे ही प्रतिदिन प्रकाश और जीवन के स्वामी, सुंदर रूपों के निर्माता और रक्षा व प्रगति के दाता इंद्र की स्तुति की जाती है।
Chapter 2 · Verse 161
अभि त्वा वृषभा सुते सुतं सृजामि पीतये. तृम्पा व्यश्नुही मदम्
Tæmpå vya‹nuh∂ madam. Lord of generous and creative power, when the yajna is on and soma is distilled, I prepare the cup and offer you the drink. Pray accept, drink to your heart's content and enjoy the ecstasy of bliss divine.
हे सामर्थ्यवान प्रभु, जब यज्ञ हो रहा हो और सोम रस निचोड़ा जा रहा हो, तब मैं आपके लिए यह पात्र तैयार करता हूँ और आपको यह पेय अर्पित करता हूँ। कृपया इसे स्वीकार करें, तृप्त होकर इसका पान करें और दिव्य आनंद का अनुभव करें।
Chapter 2 · Verse 162
य इन्द्र चमसेष्वा सोमश् चम्ञुषु ते सुतः. पिबेदस्य त्वमीशिषे
Pibedasya tvam∂‹i¶e. Indra, of the soma which is distilled and poured in the cups and ladles of spiritual yajna for you, drink to your heart's desire since you yourself rule over the ecstasy of the nectar.
हे इंद्र देव, आपके लिए यज्ञ में पात्रों में सोम रस का पान करने के लिए तैयार है, आप स्वयं इस अमृत के आनंद के स्वामी हैं, इसलिए अपनी इच्छा अनुसार इसका पान करें।

योगे योगे तवस्तरं वाजे वाजे हवामहे सखाय इन्द्रम् ञुतये
Sakhåya indram μutaye. Friends together and friends of Indra ever stronger and mightier, in every act of production and progress and in every battle for protection and preservation, we call upon Indra for defence and victory for well-being.
हे इन्द्र देव! हम सब मित्र मिलकर, प्रत्येक कर्म और युद्ध में, आपकी शक्ति और सामर्थ्य का आह्वान करते हैं, जिससे हमें विजय और कल्याण प्राप्त हो।
Chapter 2 · Verse 164
Å त्वेता नि षीदतेन्द्रम् अभि प्र गायत. सखायः स्तोमवाहसः
Sakhåya¨ stomavåhasa¨. Friends and celebrants of song divine, come, sit together and join to meditate (on life, divinity, humanity, science and spirituality, and freedom), and sing in thankful praise of Indra, lord of life and energy.
हे मित्रो, हे स्तुतिगान करने वालो, मिलकर बैठो और जीवन, दिव्यता, मानवता, विज्ञान और आध्यात्मिकता, तथा स्वतंत्रता पर ध्यान करो, और जीवन तथा ऊर्जा के स्वामी इंद्र की कृतज्ञतापूर्ण स्तुति में गाओ।

इदं ह्यन्वोजसा सुतं राधानां पते. पिबा त्वास्य गिर्वणः
Pibå tvåsya girvaƒa¨. O lord and ruler of wealth, power and potential, drink the exciting soma of this generous yajamana, elaborately distilled with vigour and splendour and offered with the voice of homage and reverence.
हे सामर्थ्य और ऐश्वर्य के स्वामी, इस उदार यजमान द्वारा उत्साहपूर्वक तैयार किए गए सोम का पान करें, जो भक्तिपूर्ण स्तुतियों के साथ अर्पित है।

महाँम् इन्द्रः पुरश्च नो महित्वम् अस्तु वज्रिणे. द्यौर् न प्रथिना शवः
May all the power and grandeur be for the lord of justice and the thunderbolt. May all be dedicated to Him.
हे वज्रधारी इंद्र देव, आपकी महानता और शक्ति सर्वोपरि है, जो सूर्य की भांति स्वयं प्रकाशित और आकाश की भांति विस्तृत है। यह समस्त ऐश्वर्य और सामर्थ्य आपके चरणों में समर्पित हो।

अभि प्र गोपतिं गिरेन्द्रम् अर्च यथा विदे. स्ञुनुं सत्यस्य सत्पतिम्
Sμunu≈ satyasya satpatim. To the best of your knowledge and culture and protector of stars and planets, lands and cows, language and culture, creator of the dynamics of existence and protector of its constancy.
हे सत्य के स्वामी, सत्य के रक्षक! अपनी समस्त शक्ति और ज्ञान से, हे ग्रह-नक्षत्रों, भूमि और गौओं के पालक, भाषा और संस्कृति के निर्माता, अस्तित्व की गतिशीलता और स्थिरता के रक्षक, आपकी स्तुति करें।

कया नश्चित्र आ भुवद्ञुती सदावृधः सखा. कया शचिष्ंहया वृता
Kayå ‹aci¶¢hayå vætå. When would the Lord, sublime and wondrous, ever greater, ever friendly, shine in our consciousness and bless us? With what gifts of protection and promotion? What highest favour of our choice? What order of grace?
हे प्रभु, आप कितने अद्भुत और सर्वव्यापी हैं, जो सदा हमारे मित्र बनकर हमारे हृदय में प्रकाशित होते हैं। किस प्रकार की कृपा और किस प्रकार के वरदान से आप हमें अनुग्रहीत करेंगे?

त्यम् उ वः सत्रासाहं विश्वासु गीर्ष्वायतम्. Å च्यावयस्य्ञुतये
Å cyåvayasyμutaye. O people of the land, that generous and brilliant victor (Sudaksha) in all sessions of the enlightened citizens and celebrated in their universal voices, you elevate to the office of ruler for your defence, protection and progress.
हे भूमीवासियों, उस सर्वव्यापी, तेजस्वी और विजयशील (सुदक्ष) को, जो सभी ज्ञानवान सभाओं में पूजनीय हैं, अपनी रक्षा, सुरक्षा और उन्नति के लिए शासक के पद पर प्रतिष्ठित करो।

सदसस्पतिम् अद्भुतं प्रियम् इन्द्रस्य काम्- यम्. सनिं मेधाम् अयासिषम्
May I realise, I pray, and attain to the direct presence of the Lord of the Universe, wondrous darling love of the soul, with gifts of the divine and discriminative vision of meditative intelligence.
हे अद्भुत, प्रिय, इन्द्र के प्रिय, ब्रह्मांड के स्वामी, मैं ध्यानपूर्ण बुद्धि की दिव्य और विवेकपूर्ण दृष्टि के उपहारों के साथ आपकी प्रत्यक्ष उपस्थिति को प्राप्त करने की प्रार्थना करता हूँ।
Chapter 2 · Verse 172
ये ते पन्था अधो दिवो येभिर् व्यश्वमैरयः. उत श्रोषन्तु नो भुवः
Uta ‹ro¶antu no bhuva¨. Indra let all the pathways below the regions of light by which you ignite, initiate and radiate currents of energy in the firmament be known to us, and let the people all regions of the world listen to our voice.
हे इन्द्र! प्रकाशमण्डल के नीचे वे मार्ग, जिनसे आप ऊर्जा के प्रवाह को प्रज्वलित, आरम्भ और विकीर्ण करते हैं, हमें ज्ञात हों, और समस्त लोकों के प्राणी हमारी वाणी सुनें।
Chapter 2 · Verse 173
भद्रं-भद्रं न आ भरेषम्ञुर्जं शतक्रतो. यद् इन्द्र मृडयासि नः
Indra, lord of infinite actions of grace, when you are kind to us and bless us with joy and well being, you give us food, energy, knowledge and enlightenment so that we may rise towards perfection as good human beings.
हे इन्द्र, हे अनन्त कृपा के स्वामी, जब आप हम पर प्रसन्न होते हैं और हमें आनंद व कल्याण का वरदान देते हैं, तब आप हमें अन्न, ऊर्जा, ज्ञान और प्रकाश प्रदान करते हैं, जिससे हम उत्तम मनुष्य बनकर पूर्णता की ओर अग्रसर हो सकें।

अस्ति सोमो अयं सुतः पिबन्त्यस्य मरुतः. उत स्वराजो अश्विना
Uta svaråjo a‹vinå. O Maruts, mighty men of honour and action, this soma of glorious life is ready, created by divinity. Lovers of life and adventure, Ashwins, live it and enjoy, those who are self-refulgent, free and self-governed, and who are ever on the move, creating, acquiring, giving, like energies of nature in the cosmic circuit.
हे मरुद्गण, यह दिव्य सोम रस तैयार है, जिसका सेवन तुम करते हो। हे अश्विनो, जो स्वयं प्रकाशित, स्वतंत्र और गतिशील हो, इस जीवन-रस का पान करो और आनंदित होओ।
Chapter 2 · Verse 175
∫Δखयन्तीर् अपस्युव इन्द्रम् जातमुपासते. वन्वानासः सुवीर्यम्
Vanvånåsa¨ suv∂ryam. Active, expressive and eloquent people, conscious of their rights and duties, serve and abide by the ruling power of the system, Indra, as it arises and advances, and while they do so they enjoy good health, honour and prosperity of life for themselves and their progeny.
वेदों के ज्ञाता और अपने अधिकारों के प्रति सचेत लोग, जो अपने कर्तव्यों का पालन करते हैं, वे उत्पन्न होते हुए और बढ़ते हुए इंद्र (शासन शक्ति) की उपासना करते हैं, और ऐसा करते हुए वे स्वयं और अपनी संतान के लिए उत्तम स्वास्थ्य, सम्मान और जीवन की समृद्धि का आनंद लेते हैं।
Chapter 2 · Verse 176
न कि देवा इनीमसि न क्या योपयामसि. मन्त्रश्रुत्यं चरामसि
Mantra‹rutya≈ caråmasi. O Devas, divinities of nature and nobilities of humanity, we never transgress the law, never frustrate any plan, never violate the order, never act surreptitiously. (We are an open minded people), we follow the law, and act according to the divine mantra, tradition and mantric declaration of the principles and policies of the order. In matters of the social order we as with others whether they are rivals or people on the periphery.
हे देवगण, हम कभी भी व्यवस्था का उल्लंघन नहीं करते, न ही किसी योजना को विफल करते हैं, न ही गुप्त रूप से कार्य करते हैं। हम सदा सत्य के मार्ग पर चलते हैं और दिव्य मंत्रों के अनुसार आचरण करते हैं।

दोषो आगाद् बृहद्गाय द्युमद्गामन्न्- आथर्वण. स्तुहि देवं सवितारम्
O singer of Brhat Samans, scholar of Atharva, passionate seeker celebrant of divinity, Brahma, highpriest, when the night is come, sing of Savita, adore the light of life.
हे बृहत्साम गान करने वाले, अथर्ववेद के ज्ञाता, हे ब्रह्मन्, रात्रि के आगमन पर, जीवन के प्रकाश, सविता देव की स्तुति करो।
Chapter 2 · Verse 178
एषो उषा अप्ञुर्व्या व्युच्छति प्रिया दिवः. स्तुषे वामश्विना बृहत्
Stu¶e våma‹vinå bæhat. This glorious dawn, darling of the sun, shines forth from heaven and proclaims the day. Ashvins, harbingers of this glory, I admire you immensely - infinitely.
यह तेजस्वी उषा, सूर्य की प्रिय, स्वर्ग से प्रकाशित होती है और दिन का उद्घोष करती है। हे अश्विनीकुमारों, इस महिमा के अग्रदूतों, मैं आपकी असीम रूप से स्तुति करता हूँ।
Chapter 2 · Verse 179
इन्द्रो दधीचो अस्थभिर् वृत्राण्यप्रतिष्कुतः. जघान नवतीर् नव
Jaghåna navat∂r nava. Indra, lord of light and space, unchallenged and unchallengeable, wields the thunderbolt and, with weapons of winds, light and thunder, breaks the clouds of ninety-nine orders of water and electricity for the sake of humanity and the earth.
हे इन्द्र देव, आप अजेय हैं और अपने वज्र तथा वायु, प्रकाश और मेघों के शस्त्रों से, निन्यानवे प्रकार के जल और विद्युत् के मेघों को मानवजाति और पृथ्वी के कल्याण हेतु भेदते हैं।

इन्द्रेहि मत्स्यन्धसो विश्वेभिः सोमपर्- वभिः. महाँन् अभिष्ंइरोजसा
Indra, lord of light and life, come with all the soma-celebrations of food, energy and joy, great as you are with majesty, power and splendour omnipresent, and give us the ecstasy of living with enlightenment.
हे प्रकाश और जीवन के स्वामी इंद्र, सभी सोम-उत्सवों के साथ पधारें, जो अन्न, ऊर्जा और आनंद से परिपूर्ण हैं। हे महान, अपनी सर्वव्यापी महिमा, शक्ति और तेज से हमें प्रबुद्ध जीवन का परमानंद प्रदान करें।

Å त्ञु न इन्द्र वृत्रहन्नस्माकम् अर्धम् आ गहि. महान् महीभिर् ञुतिभिः
Indra, lord and ruler of the world, mighty destroyer of darkness and evil, come with all great powers and protections, join and guide our progress.
हे इन्द्र, हे वृत्रहन्, हे जगत् के शासक, अपनी महान शक्तियों और सुरक्षाओं के साथ हमारे कल्याण के लिए पधारें और हमारा मार्गदर्शन करें।

ओजस्तदस्य तित्विष उभे यत् समवर्तयत्. इन्द्रश्चर्मेव रोदसी
Indra‹carmeva rodas∂. Indra, lord almighty, pervades and envelops both heaven and earth in the cover of light, the light that shines is only the lord's divine splendour that blazes with glory.
हे इन्द्र, आपकी शक्ति से ही स्वर्ग और पृथ्वी दोनों प्रकाशित होते हैं। यह प्रकाशमान तेज केवल आपका ही दिव्य ऐश्वर्य है जो महिमा से दमकता है।
Chapter 2 · Verse 183
अयमु ते समतसि कपोतै᳓इव गर्भधिम्. वचस्तच्चिन्न ओहसे
Vacastaccinna ohase. Indra, light and power of existence, this creation is yours for sure. Just as a pigeon flies into the nest to meet its mate so do you pervade and impregnate nature to create the world of forms, and listen to our words of praise and prayer.
हे इन्द्र, यह सृष्टि निश्चय ही आपकी है। जैसे कबूतर अपने साथी से मिलने घोंसले में उड़ता है, वैसे ही आप सृष्टि का निर्माण करने के लिए प्रकृति में व्याप्त होते हैं और हमारे स्तुति-प्रार्थना के वचनों को सुनते हैं।
Chapter 2 · Verse 185
यं रक्षन्ति प्रचेतसो वरुणो मित्रो अर्यमा. न किः स दभ्यते जनः
Na ki¨ sa dabhyate jana¨. The man whom Prachetas, men of knowledge and wisdom, Varuna, distinguished and meritorious man, Mitra, friend of all, Aryama, man of justice, all these protect and advance (is really strong). Can he ever be hurt, bullied or suppressed? No!
जो प्रज्ञावान, ज्ञानी, सामर्थ्यवान, मित्रवत और न्यायप्रिय देवगण रक्षा करते हैं, उस मनुष्य को कोई भी बलपूर्वक दबा नहीं सकता।
Chapter 2 · Verse 186
गव्यो षु णो यथा पुराश्वयोत रथया. वरिवस्या महोनाम्
Varivasyå mahonåm. Lord greatest of the great, Indra, come now as ever before and bring us wealth of lands and cows and discipline of the mind and senses, wealth of horses, progress and meaningful attainments, and scientific transports and spiritual adventures of the soul in meditation and yajnic sessions.
हे महान इंद्र, जैसे पहले थे, वैसे ही अब भी आकर हमें भूमि और गौधन, मन और इंद्रियों का संयम, अश्वधन, प्रगति और सार्थक सिद्धियाँ, तथा ध्यान और यज्ञों में वैज्ञानिक परिवहन और आत्मिक साहसिकता प्रदान करें।
Chapter 2 · Verse 187
इमास्त इन्द्र पृश्नयो घृतम् दुहत आशिरम्. एनाम् ऋतस्य पिप्युषीः
Enåm ætasya pipyu¶∂¨. Indra, these spotted cows of yours, various earths, starry skies which yield and shower honey sweets of milk and life giving soma are augmenters of the divine yajna of universal evolution.
हे इन्द्र, ये तुम्हारी चितकबरी गौएँ, विभिन्न भूमियाँ और तारामय आकाश, जो दूध और जीवनदायी सोम की मधुरता को उत्पन्न और प्रवाहित करते हैं, वे सार्वभौमिक विकास के दिव्य यज्ञ को बढ़ाते हैं।
Chapter 2 · Verse 188
अया धिया च गव्यया पुरुणामन् पुरुष्ंउत यत् सोमेसोम आभुवः
Yat somesoma åbhuva¨. Indra, O higher mind, O soul, O awareness of divinity, who are adored by many, celebrated by many many names in many ways, arise in every person in every soma yajna by with virtue of this intelligence, this knowledge and this awareness which nature has given to every person.
हे सोम के सोम, हे इन्द्र, हे उच्चतर बुद्धि, हे आत्मा, हे दिव्यता की चेतना, जो अनेक नामों से, अनेक प्रकार से पूजनीय और प्रशंसनीय हैं, प्रत्येक व्यक्ति में, प्रत्येक सोम यज्ञ में, इस बुद्धि, इस ज्ञान और इस चेतना के बल पर जागृत हों जो प्रकृति ने प्रत्येक व्यक्ति को दी है।
Chapter 2 · Verse 189
पावका नः सरस्वती वाजेभिर् वाजिनीवती यज्¤अं वष्ंउ धियावसुः
Yaj¤a≈ va¶¢u dhiyåvasu¨. May Sarasvati, goddess of divine speech, mother knowledge of arts, science and divinity, come with gifts of food for the mind and intellect and purify us with the light of knowledge. May the mother grace our yajna of arts and sciences and bless us with the light divine.
हे ज्ञान की देवी सरस्वती, अपनी प्रज्ञा और सामर्थ्य से हमें पवित्र करें, और हमारे यज्ञ को ज्ञान के प्रकाश से परिपूर्ण करें।
Chapter 2 · Verse 190
क इमं नाहुषीष्वा इन्द्रं सोमस्य तर्पयात्. स नो वस्ञुन्या भरात्
Sa no vasμunyå bharåt. Who in this bounden humanity can regale and surfeit this Indra with the soma of surrender and adoration? None. May the lord of boundless abundance bring us wealth, honour and excellence of life.
कौन है जो इस बंधी हुई मानवता में इंद्र को समर्पण और भक्ति के सोम से तृप्त कर सकता है? कोई नहीं। वह असीम प्रचुरता का स्वामी हमें धन, सम्मान और जीवन की उत्कृष्टता प्रदान करे।
Chapter 2 · Verse 191
Å याहि सुषुमा हि त इन्द्र सोमं पिबा इमम्. एदं बर्हिः सदो मम
Indra, lord omnipotent and omnipresent, we hold the yajna and distil the soma of life in your service. Come, grace this holy seat of my yajna dedicated to you, watch my performance, enjoy the soma, and protect and promote the yajna for the beauty and joy of life.
हे सर्वशक्तिमान इंद्र देव, हम आपके लिए यज्ञ करते हैं और जीवन का सोम रस निकालते हैं। कृपया इस पवित्र आसन पर पधारें, मेरे यज्ञ को देखें, सोम का आनंद लें और जीवन की सुंदरता व आनंद के लिए यज्ञ की रक्षा और उन्नति करें।
Chapter 2 · Verse 192
महि त्रीणाम् अवरस्तु द्युक्षं मित्र- स्यार्यम्णः. दुराधर्षं वरुणस्य
May the great, refulgent and inviolable protection and promotion of the three, Mitra, Varuna and Aryaman bless the life of nature and humanity. (Mitra, Varuna and Aryaman are explained as prana, apana and heart energy, and as the sun of the summer, winter and spring seasons round the year.)
हे मित्र, वरुण और सूर्यदेव, आपकी महान, तेजस्वी और अभेद्य सुरक्षा तथा उन्नति से प्रकृति और मानव जीवन का कल्याण हो। यह त्रयी (मित्र, वरुण, सूर्य) वर्ष भर ऋतुओं के समान, जीवन ऊर्जा के रूप में हमारी रक्षा करती है।

त्वावतः पुर्ञुवसो वयम् इन्द्र प्रणेतः. स्मसि स्थातर् हरीणाम्
Smasi sthåtar har∂ƒåm. Indra, shelter home of the world, leader of humanity, presiding over mutually sustained stars and planets in motion, we are in bond with you and so shall we remain.
हे इन्द्र, हे विश्व के आश्रयदाता, हे मनुष्यों के नेता, आप नक्षत्रों और ग्रहों के स्वामी हैं, हम आपके साथ बंधे हुए हैं और सदा बंधे रहेंगे।
Chapter 2 · Verse 194
उत् त्वा मन्दन्तु सोमाः कृणुष्व रधो अद्रिवः. अव ब्रह्मद्विषो जहि
Ava brahmadvi¶o jahi. Indra, lord almighty, commander, controller and inspirer of clouds, mountains and great men of generosity, may our hymns of adoration win your pleasure. Pray create and provide means and methods of sustenance and progress in life, and cast off jealousies and enmities against divinity, knowledge and prayer, our bond between human and divine.
हे इन्द्र देव, जो मेघों, पर्वतों और उदार मनुष्यों के स्वामी, नियंत्रक और प्रेरक हैं, हमारी स्तुति से प्रसन्न हों। कृपया जीवन में प्रगति और पोषण के साधन प्रदान करें, और देवत्व, ज्ञान तथा प्रार्थना के प्रति ईर्ष्या और शत्रुता को दूर करें।
Chapter 2 · Verse 195
गिर्वणः पाहि नः सुतं मधोर् धाराभिर् अज्यसे. इन्द्र त्वादातमिद्यशः
Indra, lord of honour, excellence and majesty, honoured by songs of celebration, served and pleased with streams of sweet soma in homage, pray protect and promote our soma-yajna of life and endeavour. By you alone is acknowledged the honour, joy and value of life and karma.
हे स्तुति के योग्य इंद्र देव, मधुर सोम रस की धाराओं से प्रसन्न होकर, हमारी यज्ञीय क्रियाओं की रक्षा करें और उन्हें उन्नत करें। आप ही जीवन और कर्म के सम्मान, आनंद और मूल्य को स्वीकार करते हैं।
Chapter 2 · Verse 196
सदा व इन्द्रश् चर्कृषदा उपो नु स सपर्यन्. न देवो वृतः श्ञुर इन्द्रः
Na devo væta¨ ‹μura indra¨. Indra, the lord omnipotent, always draws you close to himself, caring for you. Indra, refulgent, brave and generous, is ever free, never bound.
हे इन्द्र देव! आप सदा ही अपने भक्तों को अपने समीप बुलाते हैं और उनका भरण-पोषण करते हैं। आप पराक्रमी, तेजस्वी और उदार हैं, जो कभी भी किसी बंधन में नहीं बंधते।

Å त्वा विशन्त्विन्दवः समुद्रमिव सिन्धवः. न त्वाम् इन्द्राति रिच्यते
Na tvåm indråti ricyate. All the flows of soma, joys, beauties and graces of life concentrate in you, and thence they flow forth too, Indra, lord supreme, just as all rivers flow and join in the ocean and flow forth from there. O lord no one can comprehend and excel you.
हे इन्द्र देव! जिस प्रकार नदियाँ समुद्र में मिलकर उसी से प्रवाहित होती हैं, उसी प्रकार जीवन के समस्त उल्लास, सौंदर्य और कृपा आपमें समाहित होकर आप ही से प्रवाहित होते हैं। हे परमेश्वर, आपकी महिमा को कोई भी समझ या पार नहीं पा सकता।

इन्द्र इषे ददातु न ऋभुक्षणम् ऋभुं रयिम्. वाजी ददातु वाजिनम्
Våj∂ dadåtu våjinam. For food, energy and knowledge, may Indra, lord of creativity, imagination and power, give us wealth, honour and excellence of broad, versatile and expert nature. May the lord of speed and victory grant us sustenance, energy and advanced success in our pursuit of progress.

Indra, light of life, dear as breath of vitality, mighty great, blazing as the sun which is stable in its orbit and enlightens and watches us all as it moves, may, we pray, remove all fear and give us freedom.
हे इन्द्र, जीवन के प्रकाश, प्राणों के समान प्रिय, सूर्य के समान तेजस्वी और स्थिर, आप हमारे सभी भयों को दूर करें और हमें स्वतंत्रता प्रदान करें।

इमा उ त्वा सुते सुते नक्षन्ते गिर्वणो गिरः. गावो वत्सं न धेनव्ः
Gåvo vatsa≈ na dhenav¨. These words and voices of adoration, O spirit adorable, reach you, in every yajna, in every cycle of creation, like cows rushing to the calf with love.
हे पूजनीय आत्मा, जैसे गौएँ अपने बछड़े की ओर प्रेम से दौड़ती हैं, वैसे ही ये स्तुति के शब्द और वाणी, प्रत्येक यज्ञ में, प्रत्येक सृष्टि चक्र में, आप तक पहुँचते हैं।

इन्द्रा नु प्ञुषणा वयं सख्याय स्वस्तये. हुवेम वाजसातये
Huvema våjasåtaye. We always invoke and call upon Indra, lord commander of power, honour and excellence, and Pusha, giver of nourishment energy and intelligence, for the sake of friendship and all round joy and well being and for the achievement of success and victory in the battles of life.
हम सदा मित्रता, कल्याण और जीवन की विजय के लिए, शक्ति, सम्मान और उत्कृष्टता के अधिपति इंद्र देव और पोषण, ऊर्जा व बुद्धि के दाता पूषा देव का आह्वान करते हैं।
Chapter 2 · Verse 203
न कि इन्द्र त्वद् उत्तरं न ज्यायो अस्ति वृत्रहन्. न क्येवं यथा त्वम्
Na kyeva≈ yathå tvam. Indra, lord ruler of the world, destroyer of evil and breaker of the cloud like the sun, there is none higher than you, none beyond, none greater, none even equal to you as you are.
हे इन्द्र, हे वृत्रहन्, आपसे श्रेष्ठ, आपसे महान, आपसे परे कोई नहीं है, और आपके समान भी कोई नहीं है।

तरणिं वो जनानं त्रदं वाजस्य गोमतः. समानम् उ प्र शंसिषम्
Samånam u pra ‹a≈si¶am. I constantly praise the lord saviour of you, people, and the protector of your earthly wealth, power, progress and freedom.
हे जनसमूह! मैं तुम्हारे रक्षक, ऐश्वर्य और प्रगति के प्रदाता की निरंतर स्तुति करता हूँ। वह समस्त ऐश्वर्य का स्वामी है।

असृग्रम् इन्द्र ते गिरः प्रति त्वाम् उदहासत. सजोषा वृषभं पतिम्
Sajo¶å væ¶abha≈ patim. Indra, lord of light and splendour, the songs of divinity reveal and manifest you in your glory, protector of the universe and generous rain-giver of favours and kindness. And I too, in response, celebrate your magni- ficence and magnanimity without satiety.
हे इन्द्र देव, आपकी महिमा का गान करते हुए ये स्तुतियाँ आपको प्रकट करती हैं, हे ब्रह्मांड के रक्षक और कृपा के दाता। मैं भी आपकी महानता और उदारता का निरंतर गान करता हूँ।

सुनीथो घा स मर्त्यो यं मरुतो यम् अर्यमा. मित्रास् पान्त्यद्रुहः
True it is that that man is morally right, well guided and secure whom the Maruts, vibrant powers of defence and protection, Aryama, power of right conduct and justice, and Mitra, power of love and enlightenment, all free from hate and jealousy, lead and protect on the right path.
हे मरुतो, हे आर्यमन, हे मित्र! जो मनुष्य द्वेष से रहित होकर आपके संरक्षण में चलता है, वह सत्यनिष्ठ और सुरक्षित है।

यद् वीडाविन्द्र यत् स्थिरे यत् पर्शाने परा- भृतम्. वसु स्पार्हं तदा भर
Whatever wanted wealth hidden in solid mountains, concealed in secret and trust worthy sources or covered in caverns and deep in the clouds, bring that out in the open for the society.
हे इन्द्र, जो धन स्थिर पर्वतों में, गुप्त स्थानों में या बादलों में छिपा है, उस अभीष्ट धन को हमारे लिए प्रकट करो।

›रुतं वो वृत्रहन्तमं प्र शर्धं चर्ष- णीनाम्. Åशिषे रधसे महे
O lord of light, refulgent and glorious stars and planets such as sun, earth and moon bear your power and potential and they bear the jewels of life for the generous yajamana. O celebrants, celebrate Indra and pray for the devotees that the lord may bless.

Indra, lord of wealth, honour and excellence, accept and enjoy in the morning our gift of homage and yajna mixed with roasted rice and curds and sanctified and offered with the chant of holy words.
हे धनवान, कर्मों से युक्त, स्तुति करने योग्य इन्द्र देव, प्रातःकाल में हमारे यज्ञ और भक्ति को स्वीकार करें।

अपाम् फेनेन नमुचेः शिर इन्द्रोद् अवर्तयः. विश्वा यदजय स्पृधः
Vi‹vå yadajaya spædha¨. When you fight out the adversaries of life and humanity, you crush the head of the demon of drought and famine with the sea mist and the cloud.
हे इन्द्र देव! आप जल की फेन (झाग) से, जो जीवन और मानवता के शत्रुओं को जीतता है, उस अकाल और सूखे के राक्षस का सिर कुचल देते हैं।

इमे त इन्द्र सोमाः सुतासो ये च सोत्वाः. तेषाम् मत्स्व प्रभ्ञुवसो
Te¶åm matsva prabhμuvaso. O lord of exuberance, Indra, these somas of purest homage now ripe and ready and those that will be extracted and matured are all for you. Eternal lord of infinite wealth and excellence, accept these, be gracious, and bless us.
हे ऐश्वर्यवान इंद्र देव, ये प्रस्तुत सोम रस और जो अभी तैयार हो रहे हैं, वे सब आपके लिए ही हैं। हे अनंत धन और सामर्थ्य के स्वामी, इन्हें स्वीकार करें, प्रसन्न हों और हमें आशीर्वाद दें।

तुभ्यं सुतासः सोमाः स्तीर्णं बर्हिर् विभावसो. स्तोतृभ्य इन्द्र मृडय
O lord of light, Indra, the soma delicacies distilled and seasoned are ready for you. The holy grass seats are spread on the vedi. Pray come in, be gracious, and bring wealth, honour and excellence of life for the celebrants with peace and joy.
हे प्रकाशमय इन्द्र देव, आपके लिए सोम का रस तैयार है और पवित्र कुश का आसन बिछा है। हे स्तुति करने वालों के रक्षक, कृपया पधारें और हमें धन, सम्मान तथा शांतिपूर्ण, आनंदमय जीवन प्रदान करें।

Å व इन्द्रं कृविं यथा वाजयन्तः शत- क्रतुम्. मँम्हिष्ंहं सि¤च इन्दुभिः
Just as strong winds carry the cloud for rain on the earth, just as men dig the well for irrigating the field, so you serve Indra, most generous and powerful hero of a hundred acts of creation and growth, with each drop of your powers and energies.
हे इन्द्र देव! जैसे वायु मेघों को धारण कर वर्षा के लिए पृथ्वी पर ले जाती है, और जैसे मनुष्य खेत की सिंचाई के लिए कूप खोदते हैं, उसी प्रकार हे सौ कर्मों के स्वामी, हे महान् बलशाली वीर! हम अपनी समस्त शक्तियों और ऊर्जाओं की प्रत्येक बूंद से आपकी सेवा

अतश्चिद् इन्द्र न उपा याहि शतवाजया. इषा सहस्रवाजया
I¶å sahasravåjayå. And from here, Indra, come to us, bring us the food of life for a hundredfold and a thousandfold victory of honour and excellence.
हे इन्द्र, हमें सौगुनी और सहस्रगुनी विजय तथा श्रेष्ठता प्रदान करने के लिए यहाँ पधारें।

बृबद् उक्थं हवामहे सृप्रकरस्नम् ञुतये. साधः कृण्वन्तम् अवसे
Sådha¨ kæƒvantam avase. We invoke the lord divine and master ruler who is highly adorable, of long and supple arms of generosity, and always does good for the protection and promotion of all.
हे प्रभु, आप अत्यंत पूजनीय, उदार भुजाओं वाले और सबके कल्याण तथा रक्षा के लिए सदा तत्पर रहने वाले शासक हैं, हम आपकी स्तुति करते हैं।

ःर्जुनीती नो वरुणो मित्रो नयति विद्वान्. अर्यमा देवैः सजोषाः
May God, Lord Omniscient, Varuna, lord of justice and worthy of our intelligent choice, Mitra, lord of universal friendship, and the man of knowledge, wisdom and divine vision bless us with a natural simple and honest way of living. May Aryama, lord of justice and dispensation, bless us with a straight way of living without pretence. May He, lord of love who loves us and whom we love bless us with the company of noble, generous and brilliant people in humanity, and may He grant us the benefit of such generous powers of nature.
हे देवगणों! हे सर्वज्ञ, न्यायप्रिय, मित्रभाव के स्वामी, और ज्ञानवान आर्यमा देव! आप हमें निष्कपट, सरल और सत्यनिष्ठ जीवन जीने का आशीर्वाद दें, तथा सज्जन, उदार और तेजस्वी मनुष्यों की संगति प्रदान करें।

द्ञुराद् इहेव यत् सतोइ᳓रुणप्सुर् अशिश्वितत्. वि भानुं विश्वथातनत्
Vi bhånu≈ vi‹vathåtanat. The bright red dawn from far off, which yet appears so close, wraps the world in crimson glory and then spreads it over with the light of the sun.
हे प्रकाशमान सूर्य, तुम दूर से ही प्रकट होकर, समस्त विश्व को अपने लालिमायुक्त तेज से आच्छादित करते हो और फिर अपने प्रकाश से उसे पूर्ण कर देते हो।

Å नो मित्रावरुणा घृतैर् गव्य्ञुतिम् उक्षतम्. मध्वा रजाँन्सि सुक्रत्ञु
May Mitra and Varuna, sun and shower, heat and cold, fire and water, and friends of the nation inspired with justice and rectitude, fertilise and energise our lands and environment with waters and yajnic enrichments, protect and promote our cows and other cattle wealth, develop our milk products, and make the earth flow with streams of milk and honey. May all these powers do good to humanity, our lands and our homes.
हे मित्र और वरुण, सूर्य और वर्षा, अग्नि और जल, न्याय और सत्य से प्रेरित राष्ट्र के मित्रों, हमारे भूमि और पर्यावरण को जल और यज्ञीय समृद्धि से सींचें और ऊर्जावान बनाएं।
Chapter 2 · Verse 221
उदु त्ये स्ञुनवो गिरः काष्ंहा यज्¤एष्वत्नत. वाश्रा अभिज्¤उ यातवे
Vå‹rå abhij¤u yåtave. Those children of space, the winds, in their motions, carry and expand the waves of sound and the currents of waters and other energies across the dynamics of space so that they reach their destinations like the mother cows hastening on their legs to their stalls.
हे सूर्यपुत्रों, वायुओं! तुम अपनी गति से यज्ञ की स्तुतियों और जल की धाराओं को फैलाते हुए, जैसे गौएँ अपने थनों की ओर दौड़ती हैं, वैसे ही अपने गंतव्य तक पहुँचाते हो।

इदं विष्णुर् वि चक्रमे त्रेधा नि दधे पदम्. सम्ञुढम् अस्य पाँम्सुले
SamμuŒham asya på~msule. Vishnu created this threefold universe of matter, motion and mind in three steps of evolution through Prakriti, subtle elements and gross elements, shaped the atoms into form and fixed the form in eternal space and time.
विष्णु ने प्रकृति, सूक्ष्म तत्वों और स्थूल तत्वों के माध्यम से तीन चरणों में इस त्रिविध ब्रह्मांड की रचना की, परमाणुओं को आकार दिया और उस आकार को शाश्वत स्थान और समय में स्थापित किया।
Chapter 2 · Verse 223
अतीहि मन्युषाविणं सुषुवाँन्सम् उपेरय. अस्य रातौ सुतं पिब
Asya råtau suta≈ piba. Indra, lord of life, ignore the man who offers yajnic soma in a mood of anger, frustration and protest. Ignore the man who offers yajna and soma but in a joyless and conflictive mood. Accept this soma of homage distilled and offered in a state of delight, love and faith.
हे इन्द्र देव, जो क्रोध, हताशा या विरोध में सोम यज्ञ करता है, उसे त्याग दें। प्रसन्नता, प्रेम और श्रद्धा से अर्पित इस सोम को स्वीकार करें।
Chapter 2 · Verse 224
कदु प्रचेतसे महे वचो देवाय शस्यते. तदिध्यस्य वर्धनम्
Tadidhyasya vardhanam. Howsoever little, insignificant the word of prayer and adoration offered in honour of omniscient, omnipotent, self-refulgent Indra, that is the exaltation of Indra, elevation of the celebrant too.
हे सर्वज्ञ, सर्वशक्तिमान, स्वयं प्रकाशित देव इन्द्र के प्रति जो भी स्तुति और प्रार्थना का वचन कहा जाता है, वह उनकी वृद्धि और साधक का उत्थान ही है। यह वचन चाहे कितना भी छोटा या महत्वहीन क्यों न लगे, वही इन्द्र का वर्धन है।
Chapter 2 · Verse 225
उक्थं च न शस्यमानं नागोरयिर् आ चिकेत. न गायत्रं गीयमानम्
Na gåyatra≈ g∂yamånam. Indra, lord of power and piety, the man dedicated to divinity in faith and opposed to doubt and disloyalty knows the words of praise spoken by a man of doubtful faith as much as he knows the songs of adoration sung by a man of faith (and makes a distinction between the two).
हे इन्द्र, जो श्रद्धावान् और निष्ठावान् हैं, वे ही स्तुति के शब्दों को भली-भाँति समझते हैं, ठीक वैसे ही जैसे वे भक्तिपूर्ण गीतों को समझते हैं। शंका और अविश्वास से भरे व्यक्ति के शब्दों को वे उतना ही जानते हैं जितना कि श्रद्धा से गाए जाने वाले भजनों को।

इन्द्र उक्थेभिर् मन्दिष्ंहो वाजानां च वाजपतिः. हरिवान्त्सुतानां सखा
Indra, happiest and most exalted by songs of adoration, lord of all strength, power, victories and the victorious, commander of all world forces, is the friend of joyous soma celebrants of peace and prosperity.
हे इन्द्र, स्तुतियों से प्रसन्न होकर, बल और विजय के स्वामी होकर, तुम आनंदित सोम-पान करने वालों के मित्र हो।

Å याह्युप नः सुतं वाजेभिर् मा हृणीयथाः. महाँन् इव युवजानिः
Come along with us with all your strength and enthusiasm without hesitation or embarrassment, and go forward like a great hero inspired by a youthful maiden.
हे भगवन, अपनी युवा शक्ति से प्रेरित होकर, हम सब आपके साथ बिना किसी संकोच या झिझक के, पूर्ण उत्साह और बल के साथ आगे बढ़ें।
Chapter 2 · Verse 228
कदा वसो स्तोत्रं हर्यत आ अव श्मशा रुधद् वाः. दिर्घं सुतं वाताप्याय
O Vasu, shelter home of life, when does the spirit inspire, impel and create the joyous song of celebration for Indra? When it controls the various flow of the mind, then the lasting soma is prepared for the ecstatic soul.
हे वसु (सर्वव्यापी ईश्वर), जीवन के आश्रयदाता, कब आत्मा आनंदमय स्तुति के गीत को प्रेरित करती है और इंद्र के लिए उसका सृजन करती है? जब वह मन के विविध प्रवाहों को नियंत्रित करती है, तब उस परमानंदित आत्मा के लिए चिरस्थायी सोम (आनंद) तैयार होता है।
Chapter 2 · Verse 229
ब्राह्मणाद् इन्द्र राधसः पिबा सोम- मृत्ञुँन्रनु. तवेदं सख्यम् अस्तृतम्
Indra, pranic energy of air, according to the seasons drink the soma juices of nature from the earthly treasuries created by the Supreme Lord of the universe. The vital relation of life with you is universal and inviolable.
हे इन्द्र, ब्रह्मांड के परमेश्वर द्वारा निर्मित पार्थिव खजानों से, ऋतुओं के अनुसार प्रकृति के सोम रस का पान करें। जीवन का आपसे यह नित्य और अटूट संबंध है।
Chapter 2 · Verse 230
वयं घा ते अपि स्मसि स्तोतार इन्द्र गिर्वणः. त्वं नो जिन्व सोमपाः
Tva≈ no jinva somapå¨. Indra, lord celebrated in song, your devoted celebrants as we are, O lord protector and promoter of the beauty, honour and excellence of life, pray give us the food and fulfilment of life we love and aspire for.
हे इन्द्र, स्तुति के योग्य देव! हम आपकी स्तुति करने वाले हैं, हे जीवन के सौंदर्य और उत्कृष्टता के रक्षक! हमें वह अन्न और जीवन की पूर्णता प्रदान करें जिसकी हम कामना करते हैं।

एन्द्र पृक्षु कासु चिन् नृम्णम् तन्ञुषु धेहि नः. सत्राजिद् उग्र पौँम्स्यम्
Indra, lustrous lord always victorious in battles, in all the battles of life we face, vest manly strength in our bodies and courage in our hearts.
हे इन्द्र, युद्धों में सदा विजयी, हे तेजस्वी प्रभु, हमारे शरीरों में बल और हृदयों में पराक्रम का संचार करें।
Chapter 2 · Verse 232
एवा ह्यसि वीरयुर् एवा श्ञुर उत स्थिरः. एवा ते राध्यम् मनः
Evå te rådhyam mana¨. You love and honour the brave, you are brave yourself, you are definite in intention and undisturbed in attitudes. You are now ripe for the perfection of mind to experience the soul's beatitude in, divine presence. (Rg. 8-92-28)
हे भगवन, आप वीर, पराक्रमी और स्थिर हैं, और आप ऐसे ही हृदय को प्रिय हैं। आपकी कृपा से हमारा मन भी पूर्णता को प्राप्त होकर आपके दिव्य स्वरूप का अनुभव करने के लिए परिपक्व हो जाता है।

अभि त्वा श्ञुर नोनुमोइ᳓दुग्धा इव धेनवः. ∫शानम् अस्य जगतः स्वर्दृशम् ईशानम् इन्द्र तस्थुषः
tasthu¶a¨. O lord almighty, we adore you and wait for your blessings as lowing cows not yet milked wait for the master. Indra, lord of glory, you are ruler of the moving world and you are ruler of the unmoving world and your vision is bliss.
हे सर्वशक्तिमान प्रभु, हम आपकी आराधना करते हैं और आपकी कृपा की प्रतीक्षा करते हैं, जैसे अभी तक न दुही गई गायें स्वामी की प्रतीक्षा करती हैं। हे ऐश्वर्य के स्वामी इंद्र, आप चराचर जगत के शासक हैं और आपकी दृष्टि आनंदमयी है।

Tvåm vætre¶vindra satpati≈ narastvå≈ kåsthåsvarvata¨. Indra, lord of power and advancement, you alone we invoke and call upon for acquisition of food, energy, honour, excellence and progress. All of us, leading people, makers, poets, artists, artisans and architects of the nation, fast advancing in all directions, invoke and exhort you, protector and promoter of universal truth and values in human struggles for light, goodness and generosity, and the wealth of life.

Indra iti brav∂tana. Call him by the name and title of 'Indra', invoked by many, adored by all, worthy of celebration in story, all time famous who is also a scholar of universal knowledge.

इन्द्र इन्नो महोनां दाता वाजानां नृतुः. महाँन् अभिज्¤वा यमत्
Mahå~n abhij¤vå yamat. Indra is a happy and joyous leader, giver of a high order of living, energy and life's victories. May he, with love, courtesy and humility, lead us to life's greatness and glory.
हे इन्द्र, आप महान, आनंदमय और ऊर्जावान नेता हैं, जो हमें जीवन की महानता और विजय की ओर ले जाते हैं। आपकी कृपा से हम उच्च कोटि का जीवन जी सकते हैं।

प्र व इन्द्राय मादनं हर्यश्वाय गायत. सखायः सोमपाव्ने
Sakhåya¨ somapåvne. O friends, sing exciting songs of celebration in honour of Indra, your leader, commander of dynamic forces who loves the nation's honour and excellence and thirsts to celebrate the grandeur of it.
हे सखाओं, सोमपान करने वाले इंद्र के लिए आनंददायक गीत गाओ। वे राष्ट्र के सम्मान और उत्कृष्टता के प्रेमी हैं और उसकी महिमा का उत्सव मनाने के लिए उत्सुक हैं।

›अँन्सेदुक्थं सुदानव उत द्युक्षं यथा नरः. चकृमा सत्यराधसे
Say adorable words of praise for Indra, generous giver, and sing heavenly songs for him as leading lights of the nation do. Let us too do the same honour to him, the great accomplisher of truth.
हे सत्यसंकल्प वाले इन्द्रदेव, हम भी राष्ट्र के प्रकाशमान नेताओं की भांति, आपकी स्तुति में मधुर वाणी और दिव्य गान गाएं।
Chapter 2 · Verse 718
त्वं न इन्द्र वाजयुस्त्वं गव्युः शतक्रतो. त्वं हिरण्ययुर्वसो
Tva≈ hiraƒyayurvaso. Indra, glorious ruler, you are giver of peace and settlement, you are accomplisher of a hundred yajnic acts of truth, you are giver of victory and progress to us, you are lover of the land and culture and you are creator of golden wealth, honour and excellence.
हे इन्द्र, हे शतक्रतो, तुम ही हमारे विजय और प्रगति के दाता हो, तुम ही भूमि और संस्कृति के प्रेमी हो, और तुम ही स्वर्ण धन, सम्मान और उत्कृष्टता के निर्माता हो।
Chapter 2 · Verse 719
वयमु त्वा तदिदर्था इन्द्र त्वायन्तः सखायः. कण्वा उक्थेभिर्जरन्ते
Indra, we too have the same aims and objectives as you. We are your friends and admirers. We know and wish to achieve, and with all words of praise and appreciation, we adore you as others, wise devotees, do.
हे इन्द्र, हम भी तुम्हारे समान ही लक्ष्य रखते हैं, हम तुम्हारे मित्र और प्रशंसक हैं। हम तुम्हें जानते हैं और तुम्हारे समान ही कामना करते हैं, तथा स्तुति के वचनों से तुम्हारी आराधना करते हैं।

न घेमन्यदा पपन वज्रिन्नपसो नवि- ष्ंऔ. तवेदु स्तोमैश्चिकेत
Indra, lord of thunder and justice, in the beginning of a new plan, action or programme of holiness, I adore none else but only you. I know only one song of adoration and that is for you alone.
हे वज्रधारी इंद्र, हे न्याय के स्वामी, मैं किसी अन्य की आराधना नहीं करता, केवल आपकी ही स्तुति करता हूँ। मेरी स्तुति का एकमात्र गान आपके लिए ही है।
Chapter 2 · Verse 721
इच्छन्ति देवाः सुन्वन्तं न स्वप्नाय स्पृह- यन्ति. यन्ति प्रमादम् अतन्द्राः
Divines of brilliance and holy action love those engaged in creative actions of piety. They care not for dreams and love no dreamers. Active, wakeful and realistic beyond illusion, they achieve the joy of success in life.
दिव्य प्रकाश और पवित्र कर्मों से युक्त देवगण, भक्तिपूर्ण सृजन में लगे मनुष्यों को प्रिय मानते हैं। वे स्वप्नों या स्वप्नदर्शियों की कामना नहीं करते, बल्कि जागृत, यथार्थवादी और कर्मठ लोगों को ही जीवन की सफलता का आनंद प्राप्त होता है।
Chapter 2 · Verse 722
इन्द्राय मद्वने सुतं परि ष्ंओभन्तु नो गिरः. अर्कमर्चन्तु कारवः
Let all our voices of admiration flow and intensify the soma for the joy of Indra, and let the poets sing songs of adoration for him and celebrate his achievements.
हे इन्द्र देव! हमारे स्तुतिगान आपके आनंद के लिए सोमरस को परिपूर्ण करें, और कविगण आपकी महिमा का गान करें।
Chapter 2 · Verse 723
यस्मिन् विश्वा अधि स्रियो. रणन्ति सप्त सँन्स- दः. इन्द्रं सुते हवामहे
In our soma yajna of life, in meditation, and in the holy business of living, we invoke Indra, in whom all beauties and graces abide, whom all the seven seers in yajna adore, in whom all five senses, mind and intelligence subside absorbed, and under whom all the seven assemblies of the world unite, meet and act.
जिसमें समस्त शोभाएँ और गुण निवास करते हैं, जिन्हें सप्तर्षि यज्ञ में आहूत करते हैं, और जिसमें मन तथा बुद्धि लीन हो जाते हैं, उस इन्द्र का हम सोमपान के समय आह्वान करते हैं।
Chapter 2 · Verse 724
त्रिकद्रुकेषु चेतनं देवासो यज्¤अमत्नत. तमिद्वर्धन्तु नो गिरः
Tamidvardhantu no gira¨. In three modes of body, mind and soul, the devas, seven senses, the human consciousness and the noble yogis, concentrate on Indra, divine consciousness. In three regions of the universe, noble souls meditate on the universal consciousness of the divine Indra. Thus they perform the yajna of divinity in communion. May all our songs of adoration glorify that supreme consciousness, Indra.
त्रिकाल (शरीर, मन, आत्मा) में देवगण, सात इन्द्रियाँ और मनुष्य की चेतना यज्ञ में लीन होकर उस दिव्य चेतना (इन्द्र) पर ध्यान केंद्रित करते हैं। हमारी स्तुतियाँ उस परम चेतना की वृद्धि करें।
Chapter 2 · Verse 725
अयं त इन्द्र सोमो निप्ञुतो अधि बर्हिषि. एहीमस्य द्रवा पिब
Eh∂masya dravå piba. Indra, this soma pure and sanctified on the holy grass of yajna vedi, is dedicated to you. Come fast, you would love it, drink and enjoy, and protect and promote it for the good of all.
हे इन्द्र देव! यज्ञ की पवित्र वेदी पर स्थापित यह सोम रस आपके लिए समर्पित है। शीघ्र पधारें, इसका पान करें और सभी के कल्याण हेतु इसकी रक्षा करें।

›आचिगो शाचिप्ञुजनायं रणाय ते सुतः. Åखण्डल प्र ह्ञुयसे
ÅkhaƒŒala pra hμuyase. Lord self-refulgent creator of stars and planets, glorious adorable, this cosmic soma of the universe of your creation is for the joy of life. Therefore, O lord imperishable, you are invoked and adored with love and faith.
हे प्रकाशमान, हे सर्वव्यापी, हे नित्य, हे सृष्टिकर्ता प्रभु! आपकी ही रचना, यह ब्रह्मांडीय सोम, आपके आनंद के लिए है, इसलिए हम प्रेम और श्रद्धा से आपका आह्वान और पूजन करते हैं।

यस्ते शृΔगवृषो णपात् प्रणपात् कुण्डपाय्यः. न्यस्मिन् दध्र आ मनः
Nyasmin dadhra å mana¨. O lord, the sun on high which neither falls nor allows others, planets and satellites, to fall is your creation and it is the protector and sustainer of the vault of heaven and the firmament. On this we meditate and concentrate our mind.
हे प्रभु, जो सूर्य ऊँचाई पर स्थित है, जो न तो गिरता है और न ही अन्य ग्रहों और उपग्रहों को गिरने देता है, वह आपकी ही रचना है और वही स्वर्ग और आकाशगंगा का रक्षक और पालक है। हम उसी पर ध्यान और मन को एकाग्र करते हैं।

विद्मा हि त्वा तुविक्ञुर्मिं तुविदेष्णं तुवी- मघम्. तुविमात्रम् अवोभिः
We know you as lord of universal action, all giving, treasure hold of unbounded wealth and boundless in power and presence with your favour and protections.
हे सर्वशक्तिमान प्रभु, हम आपको सार्वभौमिक क्रियाओं के स्वामी, सर्वदाता, असीम धन के भंडार और अपनी कृपा व सुरक्षा से असीम शक्ति और उपस्थिति वाले के रूप में जानते हैं।

न हि त्वा श्ञुर देवा न मर्तासो दित्सन्तम्. भीमं न गाम् वारयन्ते
Bh∂ma≈ na gåm vårayante. When you give to bless mankind, no one can stop you, O brave lord, neither mortals nor immortals, just as no one can resist the mighty sun.
हे वीर प्रभु, जब आप मनुष्यों को आशीर्वाद देने के लिए दान करते हैं, तो न तो नश्वर और न ही देवता आपको रोक सकते हैं, जैसे कोई भी शक्तिशाली सूर्य का विरोध नहीं कर सकता।
Chapter 2 · Verse 731
अभि त्वा वृषभा सुते सुतं सृजामि पीतये. तृम्पा व्यश्नुही मदम्
Tæmpå vya‹nuh∂ madam. Lord of generous and creative power, when the yajna is on and soma is distilled, I prepare the cup and offer you the drink. Pray accept, drink to your heart's content and enjoy the ecstasy of bliss divine.
हे सामर्थ्यवान प्रभु, जब यज्ञ हो रहा हो और सोम रस निचोड़ा जा रहा हो, तब मैं आपके लिए यह पात्र तैयार करता हूँ और आपको यह पेय अर्पित करता हूँ। कृपया इसे स्वीकार करें, तृप्त होकर इसका पान करें और दिव्य आनंद की अनुभूति का आनंद लें।
Chapter 2 · Verse 732
मा त्वा म्ञुरा अविष्यवो मोपहस्वान आ दभन्. मा कीं ब्रह्मद्विषं वनः
Må k∂≈ brahmadvi¶a≈ vana¨. Let the fools and scoffers never get round you, even if they profess that they are keen to please you, for protection and support. Never support the negationists of knowledge, piety, existence and divinity.
हे मूर्ख अज्ञानी, जो ज्ञान और ईश्वर का तिरस्कार करते हैं, वे तुम्हें कभी धोखा न दे सकें, भले ही वे तुम्हें प्रसन्न करने का दिखावा करें। उनकी बातों में आकर कभी भी सत्य और दिव्यता से विमुख न हो।

इह त्वा गोपरीणसं महे मन्दन्तु राधसे. सरो गौरो यथा पिब
Saro gauro yathå piba. Here may devotees entertain you Indra, lover of light, with milk and soma for the achievement of great competence and success so that you may drink like the thirsty stag drinking at the pool.
हे प्रकाशप्रिय इन्द्र, महान् ऐश्वर्य और सफलता की प्राप्ति के लिए भक्तजन आपको दूध और सोम से प्रसन्न करें, जैसे प्यासा हिरण सरोवर का जल पीता है।
Chapter 2 · Verse 734
इदम् वसो सुतमन्धः पिबा सुप्ञुर्णम्- उदरम्. अनाभयिन् ररिमा ते
O lord of the world's treasure of wealth, honour and excellence, here is this exhilarating soma nectar of love and devotion distilled from the heart and soul. Pray drink of it to your heart's content. We offer it to you, lord beyond fear.
हे विश्व के धन, सम्मान और उत्कृष्टता के स्वामी, आपके लिए हृदय और आत्मा से निथारा हुआ, प्रेम और भक्ति का यह आनंददायक सोम रस प्रस्तुत है। हे भय से परे प्रभु, अपनी तृप्ति तक इसका पान करें।
Chapter 2 · Verse 735
नृभिर्धौतः सुतो अश्नैरव्या वारैः परि- प्ञुतः. अश्वो न निक्तो नदीषु
Stirred by best of men, crushed and filtered by men of adamantine character, purified and guarded by best of the brave, it is sparkling like sun rays reflected on the river waters.
हे मनुष्यों द्वारा मथित, दृढ़ चरित्र वालों द्वारा छने हुए, वीरों द्वारा शुद्ध और रक्षित सोम रस की भांति, यह (ज्ञान) सूर्य की किरणों के समान चमक रहा है।
Chapter 2 · Verse 736
तम् ते यवं यथा गोभिः स्वादुम् अकर्म श्रीणन्तः. इन्द्र त्वास्मिन्त्सधमादे
That sparkling soma drink of devotion seasoned with barley, mixed with milk and cream, we, blenders, having prepared it, offer to you in this house of celebration.
हे इन्द्र देव! हम भक्तिपूर्वक जौ और दूध से युक्त, स्वादिष्ट सोम रस को आपके लिए इस उत्सव के घर में तैयार करके अर्पित करते हैं।
Chapter 2 · Verse 737
इदं ह्यन्वोजसा सुतं राधानां पते. पिबा त्वाýस्य गिर्वणः
Pibå tvåýsya girvaƒa¨. O lord and ruler of wealth, power and potential, drink the exciting soma of this generous yajamana, elaborately distilled with vigour and splendour and offered with the voice of homage and reverence.
हे सामर्थ्य और ऐश्वर्य के स्वामी, इस यज्ञकर्ता द्वारा उत्साहपूर्वक तैयार किए गए सोम का पान करें, जो वाणी द्वारा भक्तिपूर्वक अर्पित किया गया है।
Chapter 2 · Verse 738
यस्ते अनु स्वधामसत् सुते नि यच्छ तन्वम्. स त्वा ममत्तु सोम्य
Sa två mamattu somya. Indra, lord ruler of the world, whatever and whoever be in accord with your power and pleasure, pray control, direct, administer and order the body- politic into settled form, and may all that give you pleasure and satisfaction, lover and creator of soma peace as you are.
हे सोमप्रिय इंद्र देव, जो भी आपकी शक्ति और इच्छा के अनुरूप हो, उस संपूर्ण जगत् को सुव्यवस्थित करें और उसे अपनी कृपा से तृप्त करें। आप ही इस विश्व के शासक और सोम के निर्माता हैं।

प्र ते अश्नोतु कुक्ष्योः प्रेन्द्र ब्रह्मणा शिरः. प्र बाह्ञु श्ञुर राधसा
Pra båhμu ‹μura rådhaså. Indra, heroic lord ruler of the world, whatever you receive into the body of your treasury for asset and energy, may that wealth and energy inspire your mind with knowledge and enlightenment, and strengthen your arms for potential development of the wealth of nations.
हे इन्द्र, हे विश्व के वीर शासक, आपके खजाने में जो भी धन और शक्ति आती है, वह आपके मन को ज्ञान और प्रकाश से प्रेरित करे तथा राष्ट्रों के धन के विकास के लिए आपकी भुजाओं को बल प्रदान करे।

Å त्वेता नि षीदतेन्द्रमभि प्र गायत. सखाय स्तोमवाहसः
Sakhåya stomavåhasa¨. Friends and celebrants of song divine, come, sit together and join to meditate (on life, divinity, humanity, science and spirituality, and freedom), and sing in thankful praise of Indra, lord of life and energy.
हे मित्रो, हे स्तुतिगान करने वालो, मिलकर बैठो और जीवन, दिव्यता, मानवता, विज्ञान, आध्यात्मिकता और स्वतंत्रता पर ध्यान करो, और जीवन तथा ऊर्जा के स्वामी इंद्र की कृतज्ञतापूर्ण स्तुति में गाओ।
Chapter 2 · Verse 741
पुर्ञुतमं पुर्ञुणामीशानं वार्याणाम्. इन्द्रं सोमे सचा सुते
Indra≈ some sacå sute. Friends and comrades in study and meditation, when you have distilled the essence of soma, life and spirit present at the heart of things, then sing in praise of Indra, closest at hand of things in heaven and earth, and ruler dispenser of the fruits of love and desire.
हे मित्रो, जब तुम सोम का सार, जीवन और आत्मा को हृदय में अनुभव कर लो, तब इंद्र की स्तुति करो, जो स्वर्ग और पृथ्वी के सबसे निकट हैं और प्रेम व इच्छाओं के फलों के दाता हैं।

स घा नो योग आ भुवत् स राये स पुरन्ध्या. गमद् वाजेभिरा स नः
Gamad våjebhirå sa na¨. Indra, life and energy of the universe, is at the heart of our meditation. That is the spirit and secret of the wealth of the world. That is the inspiration at the centre of our thought and intelligence. May that lord of life and energy come and bless us with gifts of knowledge and power in our joint endevours.
हे इन्द्र देव, आप हमारे योग (ध्यान) के लिए धन, ऐश्वर्य और बुद्धि के दाता बनें। आपकी कृपा से हमें ज्ञान और शक्ति प्राप्त हो, जो हमारे सामूहिक प्रयासों को सफल बनाए।

योगे योगे तवस्तरं वाजे वाजे हवामहे. सखाय इन्द्रम्ञुतये
Sakhåya indramμutaye. Friends together and friends of Indra ever stronger and mightier, in every act of production and progress and in every battle for protection and preservation, we call upon Indra for defence and victory for well-being.
हे इन्द्र देव! हम सब मित्रगण, प्रत्येक कर्म और युद्ध में, आपकी शक्ति और विजय के लिए आपको पुकारते हैं।

अनु प्रत्नस्यौकसो हुवे तुविप्रतिं नरम्. यं ते प्ञुर्वं पिता हुवे
Ya≈ te pμurva≈ pitå huve. I invoke and call upon the Primeval Man, eternal father, who creates this multitudinous existence from the eternal womb of nature, the same whom our original
हे आदि पुरुष, हे सनातन पिता, मैं आपको पुकारता हूँ, जो इस बहुविध सृष्टि का सृजन करते हैं। उन्हीं को हमारे पूर्वजों ने भी पुकारा था।
Chapter 2 · Verse 745
Å घा गमद् यदि श्रवत् सहस्रिणीभिर् ञुतिभिः. वाजेभिरुप नो हवम्
If Indra hears our call, let Him come, we pray, with a thousand ways of protection and progress of prosperity and well-being.
हे इन्द्र देव, अपनी सहस्रों प्रकार की रक्षा और समृद्धि के साथ हमारी पुकार सुनें और हमारे पास पधारें।
Chapter 2 · Verse 746
इन्द्र सुतेषु सोमेषु क्रतुं पुनीष उक्थ्यम्. विदे वृधस्य दक्षस्य महाँन् हि षः
Vide vædhasya dak¶asya mahå~n hi ¶a¨. When a special yajnic programme for the realisation of special knowledge, power and expertise and praise to divinity, then Indra, lord omnipotent and omniscient, sanctifies the joint endeavour of holiness and blesses the programme with success. Great is he.
हे इन्द्र, जब विशेष ज्ञान, शक्ति और दक्षता की प्राप्ति के लिए यज्ञीय अनुष्ठान और देवत्व की स्तुति होती है, तब सर्वशक्तिमान इन्द्र उस पवित्र संयुक्त प्रयास को पवित्र करते हैं और कार्यक्रम को सफलता का आशीर्वाद देते हैं। वह महान हैं।
Chapter 2 · Verse 747
स प्रथमे व्योमनि देवानां सदने वृधः. सुपारः सुश्रवस्तमः समप्सुजित्
Supåra¨ su‹ravastama¨ samapsujit. At the first expansive manifestation of space, at the centre of all divine mutations of nature, he is the efficient cause of nature's evolution, supreme pilot, most abundant and most glorious, omnipotent victor over conflicts and negativities in the way of evolution of nature and humanity in relation to will and action.
यह मंत्र उस परम सत्ता का वर्णन करता है जो सृष्टि के प्रथम विस्तार में, समस्त दैवी शक्तियों के केंद्र में, प्रकृति के विकास का मूल कारण है। वह परम, अत्यंत तेजस्वी, और सभी बाधाओं पर विजय प्राप्त करने वाला है।

तमु हुवे वाजसातय इन्द्रं भराय शुष्मिणं. भवा नः सुम्ने अन्तमः सखा वृधे
vædhe. That Indra, potent and abundant, I invoke for victory in the race for life, for growth and fulfilment. O lord, be our friend, our innermost centre of conscience for our progress, peace and all round well being.

Priya≈ ceti¶¢ham aratim svadhvara≈ vi‹vasya dμutam amætam. O people, for your sake, with food, homage and self-surrender, I invoke and serve Agni, giver of light and fire of life, product as well as the source of unfailing energy, strength and power, cherished and valuable friend, most enlightened and constant agent of the holiest programmes of love and non-violent development, and imperishable carrier and messenger of world communications.
हे मनुष्यों, मैं आपके लिए, अन्न, नम्रता और आत्मसमर्पण के साथ, उस अग्नि का आह्वान करता हूँ जो प्रकाश और जीवन की ज्वाला है, जो अटूट ऊर्जा, शक्ति और सामर्थ्य का स्रोत और उत्पाद है, जो प्रिय और मूल्यवान मित्र है, और जो प्रेम और अहिंसक विकास के पवित्र कार्यक्रमों का सबसे प्रबुद्ध और निरंतर वाहक है।

स योजते अरुषा विश्वभोजसा स दुद्रवत् स्वाहुतः. सुब्रह्मा यज्¤अः सुशमी वस्ञुनां देवं राधो जनानाम्
That Agni, leading power of nature and humanity, uses bright natural elements of universal value such as sun rays, fire and water, like horses harnessed to the chariot, and, when invoked and raised, would move at the fastest speed. He is the master of natural knowledge and natural materials, adorable, noble and potent worker, and the accomplisher of means, materials and projects of humanity for common success and progress.
वह तेजस्वी, सर्व-पोषक अग्नि, जो सूर्य की किरणों, अग्नि और जल जैसे सार्वभौमिक तत्वों से युक्त है, रथ के घोड़ों की तरह जुड़कर, आहूत होने पर तीव्र गति से चलता है। वह प्राकृतिक ज्ञान और साधनों का स्वामी, पूजनीय, महान और शक्तिशाली कर्मठ है, जो समस्त मानव जाति की सामान्य सफलता और प्रगति के लिए साधनों, सामग्रियों और परियोजनाओं को पूर्ण करता है।

प्रत्यु अदर्श्यायत्य्ञुýच्छन्ती दुहिता दिवः. अपो मही वृणुते चक्षुषा तमो ज्योतिष्कृणोति स्ञुनरी
The great and glorious dawn, child of the light of divinity, is seen rising, dispelling mists and darkness, and illuminates with light the world of our actions, brilliant guide as she is for the day.
दिव्य प्रकाश की पुत्री, महान और तेजस्वी उषा, उदय हो रही है, अंधकार और कोहरे को दूर कर रही है, और अपने प्रकाश से कर्मों की दुनिया को प्रकाशित कर रही है, जो दिन के लिए एक उज्ज्वल मार्गदर्शक है।

And then the sun, friend and associate together, takes over and, blazing with splendour, sends forth radiations of light and illuminates the planet earth. O dawn, in your original revelation of light divine and in the solar radiations, we pray, let us abide and act with faith and delightful experience of the illumination.

O leading lights of humanity, you provide wonderful food for the body, mind and soul, provide inspiration and incentive for the man of truth and rectitude. With an equal mind with us all, bring up your chariot, add to the joy of the community and share the honey sweets of peace and pleasure.
हे मानव जाति के मार्गदर्शक प्रकाशो, आप शरीर, मन और आत्मा के लिए अद्भुत भोजन प्रदान करते हैं, सत्यनिष्ठ मनुष्य को प्रेरणा और प्रोत्साहन देते हैं। समान मन से हमारे साथ अपने रथ को आगे बढ़ाएं, समुदाय के आनंद में वृद्धि करें और शांति व सुख के मधुर अमृत का पान करें।

अस्य प्रत्नामनु द्युतं शुक्रं दुदुह्रे अह्रयः. पयः सहस्रसामृषिम्
Men of vision and science of yajna, in pursuit of the ancient and eternal Vedic tradition of this lord of light, peace and purity, distil the brilliant, pure and powerful and visionary knowledge of a thousandfold
हे प्रकाश, शांति और पवित्रता के स्वामी! यज्ञ के ज्ञाता और दूरदर्शी पुरुष, प्राचीन और शाश्वत वैदिक परंपरा का अनुसरण करते हुए, हजार गुना प्रज्ञा, शुद्ध और शक्तिशाली ज्ञान को प्राप्त करते हैं।

अयं स्ञुर्य इवोपदृगयं सराँन्सि धावति. सप्त प्रवत आ दिवम्
Sapta pravata å divam. This Soma, like the sun, all watching and illuminating, sets rivers, seas and energies aflow, pervading therein on earth and in the seven-fold light of the sun upto the regions of light.
यह सोम सूर्य के समान सर्वव्यापी, सर्वद्रष्टा और प्रकाशमान होकर, नदियों, समुद्रों और ऊर्जाओं को प्रवाहित करता है, पृथ्वी से लेकर सूर्य के सात-गुना प्रकाश तक सबमें व्याप्त है।

अयं विश्वानि तिष्ंहति पुनानो भुवनोपरि. सोमो देवो न स्ञुर्यः
Somo devo na sμurya¨. This Soma, lord of light, peace and power, pure and purifying, pervades all regions of the universe in and above, like the divine light which illuminates all regions of the universe. (Rg. 9-54-3
यह सोम देव, सूर्य के समान, समस्त लोकों में, ऊपर और भीतर, सर्वत्र व्याप्त होकर, सब कुछ नवीन और पवित्र करते हैं। वे प्रकाशमान होकर समस्त ब्रह्मांड को प्रकाशित करते हैं।

एष प्रत्नेन जन्मना देवो देवेभ्यः सुतः. हरिः पवित्रे अर्षति
Hari¨ pavitre ar¶ati. This divine spirit since its timeless manifestation, revealed and manifested for the divines, arises in the pure hearts of humanity, eliminating pain and suffering.
यह दिव्य चेतना, अपने अनादि जन्म से ही देवताओं के लिए प्रकट हुई है, पवित्र हृदयों में जागृत होती है, समस्त दुखों का निवारण करती है।
Chapter 2 · Verse 759
एष प्रत्नेन मन्मना देवो देवेभ्यस्परि. कविर् विप्रेण वावृधे
Kavir vipreƒa våvædhe. This divine Soma, light and vision of the world, self-realised by the sages and glorified with ancient and eternal hymns of the Veda, vibrates for them in the heart and soul and sanctifies them with showers of heavenly bliss.
यह दिव्य सोम, जो विश्व का प्रकाश और दृष्टि है, ऋषियों द्वारा आत्म-साक्षात्कार किया गया है और प्राचीन तथा नित्य वैदिक स्तुतियों से महिमामंडित है, हृदय और आत्मा में उनके लिए स्पंदित होता है और उन्हें स्वर्गीय आनंद की वर्षा से पवित्र करता है।
Chapter 2 · Verse 760
दुहानः प्रत्नमित्पयः पवित्रे परि षिच्यसे. क्रन्दं देवाँन् अजीजनः
Kranda≈ devå~n aj∂jana¨. Creating the eternal life-giving food of divine ecstasy for the soul, the presence of blissful Soma vibrates in the heart of the celebrant and, calling out as if loud and bold, awakens the dormant divine potentialities of the devotee to active possibilities.
हे सोम, तुम पवित्रता से घिरे हुए, नित्य जीवन देने वाले आनंद को प्रकट करते हो, जो आत्मा को जागृत कर दिव्य संभावनाओं को पुकारता है।

उप शिक्षापतस्थुषो भियसमा धेहि शत्रवे. पवमान विदा रयिम्
Pavamåna vidå rayim. O lord of purity, those who stay far off, bring close and instruct; those who are negative, strike with fear; bring wealth, honour and excellence for life.
हे पवित्रता के स्वामी, जो दूर हैं उन्हें समीप लाएं और ज्ञान दें; जो नकारात्मक हैं उन्हें भय से विचलित करें; जीवन के लिए धन, सम्मान और उत्कृष्टता प्रदान करें।

उपो षु जातमप्तुरं गोभिर्भΔगं परि- ष्कृतम्. इन्दुं देवा अयासिषुः
Soma, spirit of beauty, grace and glory, divinely created, nobly born, zealous, destroyer of negativity, beatified and celebrated in songs of divine voice, the noblest powers of nature and humanity adore, share and enjoy.
हे सोम देव, आप दिव्य रूप से उत्पन्न, सौंदर्य और महिमा से परिपूर्ण हैं, जो नकारात्मकता का नाश करते हैं। देवगण और समस्त प्रकृति आपकी स्तुति करते हैं और आपको आनंदित करते हैं।

उपास्मै गायता नरः पवमानायेन्दवे. अभि देवाँन् इयक्षते
Abhi devå~n iyak¶ate. O leading lights of humanity, to win the wealth of life's joy, work and sing in thanks and adoration for this infinite fount of pure bliss which overflows and yearns to join and inspire the noble creative performers of yajna.
हे मानवों, उस पवित्र, आनंदमय स्रोत के लिए गाओ और स्तुति करो, जो जीवन के आनंद और कर्म के धन को प्राप्त करने के लिए, यज्ञ के महान सृजनकर्ताओं को प्रेरित करने और उनसे जुड़ने की इच्छा रखता है।

प्र सोमासो विपश्चितोइ᳓पो नयन्त ञुर्मयः. वनानि महिषा इव
Vanåni mahi¶å iva. Just as waves of water rise to the moon and great men strive for things of beauty and goodness, so do inspired learned sages, lovers of dynamic peace and goodness, move forward to realise the supreme power and Spirit of the Vedic hymns.
जैसे जल की लहरें चंद्रमा की ओर उठती हैं और महानुभाव सौंदर्य व अच्छाई की ओर बढ़ते हैं, वैसे ही प्रेरित विद्वान ऋषि, गतिशील शांति और अच्छाई के प्रेमी, वैदिक मंत्रों की परम शक्ति और आत्मा को प्राप्त करने के लिए आगे बढ़ते हैं।

अभि द्रोणानि बभ्रवः शुक्रा ऋतस्य धारया. वाजं गोमन्तमक्षरन्
Våja≈ gomantamak¶aran. Just as pure, powerful, brown nectar streams of soma shower milky energies to fill the casks of exhilarating drink for the aspirants, so do seasoned self- realised scholars and teachers of Vedic knowledge and experience, pure at heart and clairvoyant in vision and intelligence, let flow powerful exhilarating streams of knowledge and enlightenment in channels of truth, law and immortality for competent and conscientious seekers of life's fulfilment.
जैसे सोम के शुद्ध, शक्तिशाली, भूरे रस की धाराएँ साधकों के लिए आनंददायक पेय के पात्रों को भर देती हैं, वैसे ही अनुभवी आत्मज्ञानी विद्वान सत्य, धर्म और अमरता के मार्गों से ज्ञान और प्रकाश की शक्तिशाली धाराएँ प्रवाहित करते हैं।
Chapter 2 · Verse 766
सुता इन्द्राय वायवे वर्ञुणाय मरुद्भ्यः. सोमा अर्षन्तु विष्णवे
Somå ar¶antu vi¶ƒave. Knowledge, wisdom and expertise, valuable and blissful as soma, collected and refined by sages and scholars of vision and experience, flows on for Indra, the ruling soul, Vayu, the vibrant people, Varuna, powers of judgement and dispensation, Maruts, stormy warriors, and Vishnu, universal sustaining powers of life and humanity.
सोम का रस विष्णु के लिए, इन्द्र, वायु, वरुण और मरुतों के लिए आनन्दित करे। यह ज्ञान, बुद्धि और अनुभव का वह अमृत है जो आत्मा, प्राणशक्ति, न्याय, पराक्रम और जीवन के पोषण के लिए प्रवाहित होता है।
Chapter 2 · Verse 767
प्र सोम देववीतये सिन्धुर्न पिप्ये अर्णसा. अँन्शोः पयसा मदिरो न जागृविरच्छा कोशं मधुश्चुतम्
Rahugana, Bhauma Atri, Vishvamitra Gathina, Pra soma devav∂taye sindhurna pipye arƒaså. A~n‹o¨ payaså madiro na jågæviracchå ko‹a≈ madhu‹cutam. O Soma, be full with the liquid spirit of joy like the sea which is full with the flood of streams and rivers, and, like the very spirit of ecstasy overflowing with delicious exuberance of light divine, ever awake, flow into the devotee's heart blest with the honeyed joy of divinity.
हे सोम देव, नदियों के प्रवाह से परिपूर्ण समुद्र की भांति, दिव्य प्रकाश की मधुरता से परिपूर्ण होकर, भक्त के हृदय में आनंद के साथ प्रवाहित हों।
Chapter 2 · Verse 768
Å हर्यतो अर्जुनो अत्के अव्यत प्रियः स्ञुनुर्न मर्ज्यः. तमीं हिन्वन्त्यपसो यथा रथं नदीष्वा गभस्त्योः
Rahugana, Bhauma Atri, Vishvamitra Gathina, Å haryato arjuno atke avyata priya¨ sμunurna marjya¨. Tam∂≈ hinvantyapaso yathå ratha≈ nad∂¶vå gabhastyo¨. Dear, loved and fascinating, Soma emerges in transparent unsullied form, winsome worth refinement like a child's and inspiring as a sanative. Devotees stimulate it with holy karma, a thing beautiful and inspiring, and let it join and flow in the streams of thought and action between their intellect and emotion and their prana and apana energies.
हे प्रिय, हे मनोहारी सोम, तुम निर्मल रूप में प्रकट होते हो, जैसे बालक को परिष्कृत करना प्रिय होता है। भक्तगण पवित्र कर्मों से तुम्हें प्रेरित करते हैं, और तुम बुद्धि व प्राण के प्रवाह में मिल जाते हो।
Chapter 2 · Verse 769
प्र सोमासो मदच्युतः श्रवसे नो मघो- नाम्. सुता विदथे अक्रमुः
May the streams of soma, nectar sweet and exhilarating, distilled and sanctified in yajna, flow for the safety, security and fame of our leading lights of honour, power and excellence.
हे सोम! मद से युक्त, यज्ञ में सिद्ध हुए आपके रस की धाराएँ हमारे महान् नेताओं की रक्षा, सुरक्षा और कीर्ति के लिए प्रवाहित हों।
Chapter 2 · Verse 770
Åदीम् हँन्सो यथा गणम् विश्वास्या-वीवशन् मतिम्. अत्यो न गोभिरज्यते
And just as a hansa bird joins its flock and just as a horse is controlled by reins to reach the destination, so does the soul, having controlled and concentrated all senses, mind and intelligence, rise and join the presence of Divinity, its ultimate haven and home.
जैसे हंस अपने झुंड में मिल जाता है और जैसे अश्व लगामों से नियंत्रित होकर गंतव्य तक पहुँचता है, वैसे ही आत्मा इन्द्रियों, मन और बुद्धि को वश में करके परमात्मा के दिव्य धाम में विलीन हो जाती है।
Chapter 2 · Verse 771
Åदीम् त्रितस्य योषणो हरिं हिन्वन्त्यद्रिभिः. इन्दुमिन्द्राय पीतये
Indumindråya p∂taye. And the vibrant thoughts and words of the sage beyond three fold bondage of body, mind and soul, with all perceptions of sense and conceptions of mind concentrated, rise, reach and exalt the lord of peace and joy, destroyer of suffering, for the enlightenment and ecstasy of the human soul.
हे इन्द्र, हे सुख के स्वामी, हे दुखों के नाशक! त्रिविध बंधनों (शरीर, मन, आत्मा) से परे, इन्द्रियों और मन की समस्त चेतना को एकाग्र कर, ये दिव्य विचार और वाणी आपके प्रकाश और आनंद के लिए उठती हैं।
Chapter 2 · Verse 772
अया पवस्व देवय्ञु रेभन् पवित्रम् पर्येषि विश्वतः. मधोर्धारा असृक्षत
Thus vibrate, purify and flow, friend of sages and divines, releasing these honey streams of joy, and go on eloquent to bless the pure heart all round all ways in the world.
हे मित्र, तुम पवित्रता से प्रवाहित हो, देवों और ऋषियों के प्रिय हो, आनंद की मधुर धाराओं को बहाते हुए, समस्त विश्व को अपने मधुर वाणी से पवित्र करो।
Chapter 2 · Verse 773
पवते हर्यतो हरिर् अति ह्वराँन्सि रΔह्या. अभ्यर्षन्त्-स्तोतृभ्यो वीरवद्यशः
Abhyar¶ant-stotæbhyo v∂ravadya‹a¨. The beauteous and beatific divine saviour spirit of Soma vibrates, purifies and flows with tremendous force, casting off all crookedness and contradictions, and overflowing with valour, honour and excellence for the celebrants and their heroic progeny for generations.
हे हरि! हे सुंदर और कल्याणकारी रक्षक! आप महान बल के साथ प्रवाहित होते हैं, सभी टेढ़ेपन और बाधाओं को दूर करते हुए, उत्सव मनाने वालों और उनकी वीर संतानों के लिए पराक्रम, सम्मान और उत्कृष्टता से परिपूर्ण होते हैं।
Chapter 2 · Verse 774
प्र सुन्वानायान्धसो मर्त्तो न वष्ंअ तद्- वचः. अप श्वानम् अराधसं हता मखम् न भृगवः
That silent voice of the generative illuminative Soma of divine food, energy and enlightenment for the devotee, the ordinary mortal does not perceive. O yajakas, ward off the clamours and noises which disturb the meditative yajna as men of wisdom ward them off to save their yajna. (Rg. 9-101-13)
हे भक्त! जो दिव्य अन्न, ऊर्जा और ज्ञान से युक्त सोम का मौन उद्घोष है, उसे सामान्य मनुष्य नहीं समझ पाता। हे यज्ञकर्तागण! उस यज्ञ की भांति, जो बुद्धिमान पुरुष विघ्नों को दूर कर अपने यज्ञ की रक्षा करते हैं, तुम भी ध्यान में बाधा डालने वाले कोलाहल को दूर करो।
Chapter 2 · Verse 775
पवस्व वाचो अग्रियः सोम चित्राभिर्ञुतिभिः. अभि विश्वानि काव्या
Abhi vi‹våni kåvyå. O Soma, you are the leading light. With various and wonderful modes of protection and preservation, purify and sanctify the speech of humanity and let it flow free and fine. Be the same preserver, sanctifier and promoter of all the art and literature of the world.
हे सोमदेव, आप वाणी के आदि प्रवर्तक हैं, अपनी अद्भुत रक्षण शक्तियों से हमारी वाणी को पवित्र करें और उसे प्रवाहित होने दें, जिससे समस्त कला और साहित्य का भी संवर्धन हो।
Chapter 2 · Verse 776
त्वं समुद्रिया अपोइ᳓ग्रियो वाच ईरयन्. पवस्व विश्वचर्षणे
Pavasva vi‹vacar¶aƒe. O mover, shaker and inspirer of the world, you are the first and foremost leading light, flow forth purifying, sanctifying and energising the oceanic vapours and waters of space, and inspiring and preserving the eternal Word and the speech, manners and cultures of the world of humanity.
हे विश्व को गति देने वाले, प्रेरित करने वाले प्रभु, आप ही आदि और प्रमुख प्रकाश हैं, जो अंतरिक्ष की असीम जलराशि को पवित्र और ऊर्जावान बनाते हुए, शाश्वत वाणी और मानव जाति की संस्कृति को प्रेरित और संरक्षित करते हैं।
Chapter 2 · Verse 777
तुभ्येमा भुवना कवे महिम्ने सोम तस्थिरे. तुभ्यं धावन्ति धेनवः
O Soma, lord of omniscient vision and creation, these world regions of the universe abide in constant steadiness in homage to you, and the seas on earth and in space roll in honour to you.
हे सोम, सर्वज्ञ दृष्टियुक्त और सृष्टिकर्ता प्रभु, ये समस्त भुवन आपकी महिमा में स्थिर हैं, और पृथ्वी तथा अंतरिक्ष के सागर आपकी स्तुति में प्रवाहित होते हैं।
Chapter 2 · Verse 778
पवस्वेन्दो वृषा सुतः कृधी नो यशसो जने. विश्वा अप दिव्षो जहि
Vi‹vå apa div¶o jahi. Soma, lord of purity and generosity, light and splendour, served and realised through yajnic life, protect and purify us, help us join the community of honour and excellence, ward off and eliminate all malignity, jealousy and enmity from our life.
हे सोम देव, जो पवित्रता और उदारता के स्वामी हैं, यज्ञमय जीवन से प्राप्त और अनुभव किए जाने वाले प्रकाश और तेज से युक्त हैं, हमारी रक्षा करें और हमें शुद्ध करें, हमें सम्मान और उत्कृष्टता के समुदाय में शामिल होने में सहायता करें, और हमारे जीवन से सभी दुर्भावनाओं, ईर्ष्या और शत्रुता को दूर करें।

यस्य ते सख्ये वयं सासह्याम पृतन्यतः. तवेन्दो द्युम्न उत्तमे
Tavendo dyumna uttame. O lord of truth, beauty and generosity, within the fold of your friendship and in the state of your highest honour and excellence, let us face and win over all the adversaries.
हे सत्य, सौंदर्य और उदारता के स्वामी! आपकी मित्रता की छत्रछाया में और आपकी परम महिमा में, हम सभी विघ्नों का सामना कर उन्हें जीत लें।
